Hi Guys. Not sure if it's the right forum, but will ask anyway - how to decrease the save file, what cause it to grow? I have around 4Gb of CC and say 40 sims in 10 households, and my save is 13Mb now (I'm saying that cause I noticed it falls a bit when I delete CC and when I clean orphant sims, but I'm just guessing. I also noticed it started to grow rapidly since I bought Get Famous, I think about 2Mb in a month, while previously it was more like .5Mb. And I also think that paintings/photos on walls increase the save size, but again I'm guessing).
Any suggestions or best practices what the file size should be for this amount of CC/sims and how to clean it (if it's possible at all)?

Try to avoid downloading CAS items that say HQ compatible. Unless you play with the HQ mod the files are basically bloated for no reason.

I found my save files increase as the sims themselves gain skills, collect things and live a long time. I guessed it was due to the game saving all the internal memories that we can't see. Might be wrong but I have had really long lived sims with huge save files that end up corrupt, so now I let them die occasionally to save me starting a new game.

As time passes things get stored, for example dead sims (although in the vainilla game there's culling they don't usually get removed from the family tree, each photo per each sim in your time might have an effect). The population also increases and each sim have their individual information that also get's bigger. It's a pity that eventually something get's corrupted. This happened to me in the only save I've been playing pass 6 generations.
I've experienced that after updates if the save has been originally created in a pass update it tends to get corrupted more easily.

I just rebuild the save from time to time. Keeping the families that are important and using MCCC to rebuild the connections.

I did forget to mention inventories. Both household and individual sim inventories. If you are replacing your lot with one from the gallery, bulldoze your lot first to avoid all the items going into your household inventory.
