Hi all, so I'm almost done converting a sims 2 item to the sims 4 but there is only one little step that's left. I'm trying to make the red boxes somewhat transparent but I must be missing something... They're showing up just fine in the S4S preview window: imgur.com/2vMP0Bt (preview in sims 4 studio) but in game they are solid:imgur.com/OXYq6op (in-game shot of the item) The original item I cloned was the a big base game TV, and then I follow the tutorial from the wonderful Orangemittens as to how to add transparency to objects that don't have it. So I'm very confused, tired (and somewhat hungry) so any help is very much appreciated!

Firstly, the texture resolution of your images is off. It must be POWER of 2, 768 isn't one. It goes from 256, 512, 1024 and so on. Please fix your textures. Secondly, i've been reading the latest comments on the tutorial and feel that something must have changed on one of the updates. I don't have the latest packs so do you mind cloning a newer plant and checking the model settings to see if they're still using the alphablend string? I suggest trying "transparency" instead. If you clone a base game plant you'll see those use that and that's what i've always used.

First of all thanks for the heads up about the textures, I wasn't aware of that! Now, I cloned a plant as you suggested, and everything seemed to be the same as my project, except that there were no AlphaBlended strings anywhere. So I removed them from mine but still nothing changed. I also tried to recreate my project by cloning a plant already in the game. Still the same... I don't know what else I can try... :(

plants use "transparency" instead of alphablend.
can you share your new package even if it's not the tv, just the plant one you created.

I assume you mean the project I recreated by cloning the plant? Either way I'll upload both: This is the plant I cloned as a standalone project. packageThis is the mesh I remade by using the plant above as a base. package

I know this mind sound silly, but are you sure you placed the new plant package in your mods? I honestly can't see anything wrong with the new package as far as the texture having wrong resolution. I would fix that (because you'll have to fix it anyway) and re test in game. As for the TV, i would use "transparency" rather than alphablend and test in game.

Well after trying for days I came up with an alternative of splitting the frame and the tv into 2 different items. I then, cloned an object with a transparency group (the typewriter for example) and replaced the glass group with the boxes. I then altered the specular of the glass group (because it was too shiny) and it worked out fine! I'm sure there is an easier way I could've taken but hey, i got there in the end. Thanks once again for your help!
PS: I managed to make the frame act as a bookcase so that's a plus I guess...
