I'm not 100% sure if this is the right section for this. Feel free to move to the most appropriate board.
I was just wondering if it's possible to extract icon images from The Sims 4 using S4S? I use it regularly to manage my CC and create some simple recolours, but I need some icons from the game to use in Photoshop. I'm not sure how to go about doing that.
I know others have extracted lots of icons from the game but I can't find the ones I need and would like to learn how to do this myself so I don't need to rely on others to extract icons from new packs later on.

Hi! Studio has a function called "Game File Cruiser". It is in the upper part of the program, inside the "Tools" expandable menu. This will allow you to search the gamefiles using a specific instance or by file tipe. The are a lot of categories to check or uncheck that will help you find the icons. I was able to find some checking only the "DST image" box. A lot of images will appear in a list. You can go through and look for what you need. Then you click export in the right part of the windows and it will let you export in .png or .dds. Also, I've noticed that a lot of icons are in the path \Data\Client, which you can also type in the search bar to filter out.

I wanted to add that it sometimes helps to sort the images by filesize. For example, if you are looking for 128 px icons many tend to be around 16KB.

I'm looking for the icon for Off the Grid lot trait. Is there another way to find it rather than just... going through ALL of those images?

Naavaparta, I found the icon. It has the instance number BBE021FF9C1DBF85 and is a DST image.

I've been scouring Sims 4 Studio and even when I just type in "EP08" into the search bar, I for the life of me cannot find the Study Spot lot trait icon! I've looked everywhere, several times with the "EP08" filter and even without it and its bugging me so much.

It is! But why is it so small and low quality? :( EDIT: OH! And thank you so much 🥰
