Hello! So I created a 2x1 version of the garden planter from the base game and I used the circle pot as a base for this, I tried adding slots for plants on it but it won't work. Can someone help me, please? Thank you. Here is the link: www.simfileshare.net/download/969329/

The easiest method for transferring slots from one object to another (at least the way I do it) is to export the Rig and Slot resource files from the object you want to copy the slots from, and replace them with the ones found in your own object.
So in your case you want to export the Rig and Slot resources from the original planter (you can find these in the warehouse tab), export them and then replace them with the ones in your own package. Save, and reopen and the slots should appear. Of course you will need to move them around and maybe delete the ones you don't need.
Try that and see how it goes.

That was my first attempt, I exported the Rigand Slots from the original planter (2x2). It had 5 small slots and one large slot in the middle, I deleted the other two slots and moved the other two slots to be aligned in the middle. I started it in the game and it gave a last exception.

A small clarification for my comment above: Usually you will also need the tuning file of the original object as well, but it seems you already copied a planter box. There is a possibility however that because you cloned the circle pot (which only allows 1 plant slot by default and not 5 slots like the 2x2 one) you might need to replace your rig with the one from the 2x2 planter. EDIT: PBJelly apparently we commented at the same time. It seems like you either need to export the tuning of the 2x2 planter and replace it with the tuning in your own package, or start all over again but this time by cloning the 2x2 planter.

Sorry for the late reply. So I did what you said earlier, I exported the rig and slots from the 2x2 planter to my 2x1 planter. Instead of deleting everything and moving slots at the same time. I moved the slots first and tested in the game (it worked) and then I deleted the extra slots and tested it again in the game (it worked). I did the same thing yesterday but it gave me an LE (something about: Unable to find joint b__subroot__3 on object_GardeningSoil) It now miraculously works. Thanks for the replies though simsi45 !

I have a new problem though, the slots work perfectly but it won't let my sim do the plant interaction, My sim just waves its hand with a thought bubble with the thumbnail of the garden planter. Would you mind to take a look? www.simfileshare.net/download/969329/

Hmm that's odd... Have you tried clicking on the "Adjust footprint to fit mesh" button, under the meshes tab?

I clicked the "Adjust the footprint to fit mesh" but nothing changed. I redid everything and I carefully and manually changed the rig and slots at the warehouse tab and I think that fixed. I am confused though because the planter in-game only has one slot for large plants, I added two more large slots but when I hover over the plant interaction it just says that "can't plant because the slot is taken by other seeds" (somewhere along those lines) but there were no seeds around. Here is the working one with one large slot: www.simfileshare.net/download/970160/Here is the one with three large slots: www.simfileshare.net/download/970169/PS: Sorry for jumping into problems after problems

Just checked your files. Unfortunately I'm not entirely sure what's wrong. My guess is the large slots overlap with the small slots so the game can't properly command the sim to plant there because the slot is blocked. I can't play with it at the moment, but I would suggest to try and remove the small slots and leaving just the large slots. (if the plant slots are like the normal item slots used on tables, then the large plant slots should include all other small and medium plant slots.) Be sure to rename their subroots so they are in order of 1-2-3 etc. If that doesn't work then I'm really not sure what the issue is.

Okay, Thanks for the reply, I did everything I could think of but it won't let me click on the plant interaction if there are more than one large slots for trees. I am fine with it though. Thank You again!

Just a thought but have you looked at the tuning? If there is only one large slot listed in the tuning for the planter then the game will only be able to use one of them even if you add more. I also don't believe plant slots behave like object ones. Each plant has a set entry of if it needs a big slot or a small one. That's why you can't normally plant small plants in the middle of large planters.
