Stepping back into the world of creating, I've just discovered the ability to merge packages. I'm so sorry if this has been asked somewhere before, but I haven't managed to find anything in searches.
Am I mistaken to think I should be able to merge to separate clothing pieces into a single package? Logic tells me that I might have to first merge the meshes into a package, but I am so really not versed on meshing and Blender is beyond my abilities at this time. I tried to merge the CAS packages, and that worked out okay, but there are no texture files for me to edit ... so I come here, begging for a little help.
In RL, one of my favorite comfy outfits for weekends is to wear my yoga pants and a huge sweater or over-sized long sleeve Tshirt. I'd like to do that for the game as well. Is this possible?

It sounds like you are trying to merge the package files in order to merge the meshes themselves. When you merge two package files, you don't actually merge the meshes whatsoever. It doesn't affect the way the item performs, looks or functions in any way.
You simply get 2 package files (or more) and you turn them into 1 single package file. The items inside that package are still separate inside the game. This is used in order to save space, make your mods folder more organized and let the game run smoother.

Thank you simsi45, I had feared exactly that ... although the reason of keeping the Mods folder clean is absolutely necessary. I'm going to have to figure out how to merge the meshes to do this then.
