This tutorial will show you how to find the poly count of a custom content item using Sims 4 Studio. 1. Open Sims 4 Studio and click the My CC button: 2. Select the item you are interested in checking from the list on the left side of the My CC popup box. If it is in a folder within your Sims 4/Mods folder, you will first need to expand that folder to see the content inside. You can expand the folder by clicking the tiny arrowhead that is just to the left of the folder icon. Once the folder is expanded, click on the name of the item you want to look at: 3. Once you have clicked on the item of interest, you will see the mesh in the model viewer. The poly and vertex counts are to the right of the model viewer below the swatch list as shown: The picture shows a CAS item, but the counts can be found in the same place if you are looking at an object.

What would you consider an acceptable range of Vertices/Polygons for Hair clothes and objects for a mid spec Laptop?

Good post! I wish that more creators would read this. I was reading a few comments about high polygons on reddit and youtube lately. Most creators excuse this by putting out a warning on their creations for the people with low end computers just to be on the safe side. For me this warning just indicates that they don't know how to create good content beneith the EA polygons limitation or they are just care less. Lets be honest, most of the so called details on objects aren't really recogniseable by the player because you play more from a distance. And using 2048x2048 textures or even higher on objects and even CAS content with hardly any details are also pretty useless. freeasabird made a good comment about it HERE
