Hi. I've hit an obstacle in the process to make my own earrings. Picture 14 to 15. When i want to make that line, from one side to the other, I get the entire circle and move its shape. I have no idea, what I'm doing wrong? Hope you can help.

Hi guys! I am trying to go through this tutorial and got hung up in a couple locations. Both of which are in the "mark seams" part of the tutorial. For Reference, I've copied and pasted the relevant instruction. My comments/questions are in bold. I'd love some help with this! 4. Hold the Shift key down while selecting each edge of one of the boxes so that the entire thing turns orange. You actually have to hold down alt and right click the first edge, then hold down alt & shift while right clicking on each subsequent edge for it to work (at least in 2.7)14. Hold down the Shift key and the Alt key and right mouse click on each of the three sections making up one of the inner ring edges. Could you please be a little more specific here? Neither the words nor the picture, show clearly what you are supposed to be clicking on.Thank you!

I followed the directions but my earring aren't full. It's just one line going down and around but nothing on top or on the other side. Also when I press e, to make the peace sign it doesn't work. Please help

Moonshay , it sounds like you need to switch to face select first. If you're getting the entire edge, you're still in edge select. MeliDeeSim, I wrote the tutorial using Blender 2.70, and to the best of my knowledge, the same instructions should work for later versions as well. If you're having to hold other keys down you're doing something different than the tutorial instructs. It's hard for me to say what that is without more information or a .blend. Which step do you need a more specific illustration for? Step 14 says "Click the Face Select button that is in the bar below the viewport window. Then right mouse click the face that is directly on top of the green line." simplygorgeous , if you post your .blend, I can take a look to see what could be going wrong.

Afternoon, I am trying the tutorial, everything is fine until I get to step 15. When I start to drag the face toward the bottom, It drags three faces not one, and it the line goes downward not straight. I've restarted over and over thinking I've missed a step but I haven't. I'm feeling hopeless. Shannon EDIT: I figured out what I was doing wrong with that step. BUT NOW, I am at the EA earring part with the deleting. When I press "B" and do the box the earring bottom does not highlght, and when I click on "x" then vertices, both earring meshes delete. I can't figure it out.

Heya! Try switch to wireframe [Z], then select with or [Ctrl]+LMB,
it will pick the underlying vertex

Hi, this must sound really stupid but how do I "tip the view" in step 13? my view stays always the same no matter what I do or where I click. I never even see the inner rings but just the view from the side :(

Hi panthergirlsim ..You can tilt the object by pressing middle key on your mouse. If you use touchpad on laptop I believe you have to set up your custom keys for this in preferences. I highly recommend watching this video about basic interface and navigating in Blender. Navigating starts at 6:18, but I recommend watching entire video. I had a very difficult time adjusting to Blender from 3DS Max before I watched some videos about basic actions like navigating and shortcuts.

Thanks Feyona for your help. I'm just seeing this answer. I'm still getting used to the platform and did not know I could get to my questions and replies by clicking notifications.

I'm sorry for being dumb, I'm new here, but how do you use blender and paint.net on s4s? I don't know where to put them in my files, and they do not show up in s4s. Again, so sorry for being dumb :P

orangemittens I got up to Step 4 where from Sims 4 Studio I need to click "Export Mesh" to launch Blender but then got this error saying I need Blender 2.70 but have 2.79 installed: Do I really need to install an older version of Blender? Or can I work around this somehow? Thanks!

brisnicki, you have to download this version of blender. this is the only one that works properly with s4s.

yunanesca, I can move your question to Creator Help part of the forum if you want. Regarding your question, this probably the easiest project for beginner. You need to open original .package, untick all ages and tick "toddler" and export. You will get toddler rig with wings in original position. Scale them down, most likely you won't even need to do the weights.
