Is anyone answering questions on this tutorial? It looks great, but I'm having the same problem a lot of people have. Steps 14 and 15 on what to select for seams just isn't very clear. It's hard to tell in the pictures what is selected and what isn't. I can't get through this because I can't seem to get that part right. And it seems like at times during the tutorial you are told to select things, but I think someone forgot to mention deselecting everything before making a new selection. I'm wondering if there are points in steps 14 and 15 where you are supposed to deselect or not.
Thanks if anyone can help.

sajnos számomra nagyon bonyolult a turmixgép használata, és senki sem tudja megmagyarázni, hogyan működik.

peridric evy1982 Hi I was stuck for soo long, I'm happy to say I was actually able to finally follow the tutorial after doing a blender course on udemy.com. Udemy is not expensive at all. There are free tutorials on youtube, but most are not that good or not updated. If you really don't have the money try this YouTuber/Graphic artist Blender tutorial on blender guru YouTube channel. I'm currently taking this exact course Blender Course on UdemyThey always have the clock at the top saying get it now before the price goes up, the price is always around the same. The course has examples with the answers at the end of the video, just take your time. Also a photoshop course will help a bunch. Keep me posted on your progress if you don't mind.

Thank you very much for the detailed tutorial. With this I was able to make the old aunt's headscarf.

How do I do all this on the most recent version of Sims 4 Studio, or is it all the same? My version of S4S is different from what you have. Edit: NVM, I fixed it, Sims 4 wasn't properly connected...

Hello, I have a question. My Sims 4 Studio continues to show an error message saying that I must have Blender 2.70 installed. I installed it, but it's continuing to show the same message. What should I do? The message says, "The Sims 4 Studio requires Blender 2.70 to be installed, but it seems that you are using 2.82. Would you like to download and install version 2.70 now?"

Yeah, so, problem... this doesn't work. At all. As in, the mesh flat out does not show up in Blender after exporting, no matter which Blender version I use- I was initially using 2.79, then got 2.70. It still won't show the mesh, and when opening in 2.70, it says "file written by newer blender version(270.6), expect loss of data" or something. All that shows up in the hierarchy is a bunch of lamps, no actual meshes. :/

^ Export as OBJ mesh in 2.79 (OBJ meshes should work for any version), import into the version you're using now (2.76 is adviceable over 2.70, though), and then do all the other changes. Then it should work a bit better. New Blender files often won't work in old versions, but old files will usually work in new versions. OBJ files are a kind of file format that works in most 3D programs and most versions, so if you're transferring files between programs or versions, that's sometimes what you have to use. They don't retain any other info than basic mesh info and some basic material/texture info, but they're better than no mesh at all. Make sure to use proper settings though. Blender doesn't always play nice with OBJ files.

...But sims4studio exports it immediately as a .blend file, and when opening it in Blender, the mesh data is just completely gone? How would exporting it as a .obj recover it?

Yeah, see, I just tried that- exported it with Sims Studio, opened it in Blender, exported again from Blender as a .obj, and tried importing it again- mesh data is still not there, so like...????

The data needs to be there at the point of exporting. If it's not there, you can't expect Blender (or S4S) to generate it.
Have you tried to open Blender (make sure you're actually opening 2.76) first, then open the file via "open file" in the program? Could be you just need to make sure to open the proper version of the program. I think you can have multiple versions of Blender on your computer as long as you're using no-installer verisons.

yes, that's how I've been opening the file- from within Blender itself. What I'm doing is literally exporting the base earring mesh directly from S4S so that I have the reference for fitting my own accessory mesh to the head... but once it exports, it won't open in Blender with mesh data intact, the actual mesh just isn't there no matter what version of Blender I'm opening it from.
I am following this guide exactly, and I can only get as far as "open the file in Blender", because the rig and mesh for the head and earrings exported from S4S don't show up.

Literally, I get to step 4 before I'm stuck... because there is no mesh data when opening the exported file in Blender. :/
