I'm working on converting some of my old TS2 items to TS4, but the problem is that some of them have multiple mesh groups and textures, and a few of them are difficult to remap. Is there a way to add mesh groups and textures to a deco object with Sims4Studio?
If there's a tutorial available, I'd appreciate a link
Also, is there a limit to how many subsets an object can have? I've not seen more than 4 (1-2 belonging to shadows), so I'm guessing that's the limit. Doesn't hurt to ask, though.
If it's not possible (or extremely difficult), I'd appreciate suggestions for floor deco objects with 2 or more useable subsets (preferably some with the possibility of transparency, for instance plants, and basegame).

You can actually use any object and turn it into something else. I know for a fact that the microwave has 4 separate textures. There are also many debug shells that have more.

IS there a tutorial on how to do that?

As I've done A TON of TS2 -> TS4 conversions, I'd say (most of the time!) the easiest route is to first combine all the textures into 1, remap every mesh group onto that texture and then merge all the different groups into 1. Of course the amount of groups and textures will vary depending on the object you are trying to make.

I'd rather not have to go the remapping route if I can avoid it. One of them has 3 1024x1024 maps, and the textures are quite detailed and big, so I'd prefer avoiding having to use a 2048x map, and I hate mapping for rectangular sizes.
I was kind of just hoping there was an easier (and cloneable) way to do it.
Are there any deco objects (preferably floor ones) that have 2 texture subsets? I know some of the glass ones have, but they tend to have other annoying properties like shine.

I did end up gong the remapping route for the project I was working on, but I'd be very interested in knowing how to do it in TSRW if you have a tutorial on how. I've seen objects with 3 textures, so I know it's possible.

I'm curious as well about a tutorial, though mine is for an override if it's at all possible.

Hi all, if you want to discuss making things with a tool other than Sims 4 Studio, the support forum for Sims 4 Studio isn't the place to do it. Thx. Here's a link to the Creator Studio FAQ if anyone has any questions. link
