Hi All, I am posting here in case other people have this problem rather than messaging menaceman44 who is a saint and has answered all my questions recently. As I am testing out meshes/packages, it would be nice to just have one LOD to replace while I am iterating. I know I could just ignore the other LODs but when I zoom out the other mesh comes back which I don't like. Is there a way to *cleanly* remove LODs so I only have one object and one shadow LOD? I found a thread addressing this on mod the sims (that I have linked below), but when the person asked the question he got berated and no one answered him. If this is already answered on here please let me know! I searched and couldn't find anything. modthesims.info/t/561508Thanks!

Hi! The straightforward answer to this would be: you shouldn't. There's LODS for a reason, and deleting anything from the warehouse means you're deleting information linked in several other strings. So that would cause even more hassle than actually replacing them all in the "normal" way by importing the meshes.
But i guess that's not the reply you're looking for?. My only suggestion is to clone an item that already lacks or has less LODS than usual. That'd be plants. They only have high and medium lod. No shadows lods, and that's it.

Yea I know I shouldn't. In the final object I will decimate and make lower LODs. But right now I am just testing placement/sizing/texturing/bump maps/etc. And I like to look at if from different views and angles. So ideally it would be deleting them temporarily and final object would have them. But if there is really no way of cleanly doing this then it isn't an option.

Why not just replace all mesh LODs, with your mesh temporarily (so the object won't change when zooming out)? You can always go back and change them when you are done testing.
