Does this happen with any mesh, for example EA ones? And does it import successfully after all that time or does it just crash/break?

@jwofles i make conversions (from adults to kids or toddlers) the meshes are from cc hairs and yes the hair imports successfuly after all that time

Hair meshes tend to be high poly and that is the reason why it takes so long for them to load. There's nothing you can do about it (if it isn't yours)

Clone any ea shoes, export the blend, import it back. If it won't take longer than, like, 30 sec, then it's just the polycount
And if the other meshes you've tried were outfits made in Marvelous Designer or shoes with toes, it's the same situation. I find that things start to take longer to load when the polycout is above 8k.
