okay, I apologize for the sudden second post!-
I was able to create the amputated arm, but my issue now is making it into a different article of clothing that ISN'T a shirt. I would like to use the arm as something else so the sims can wear a shirt, but everything that I try doesn't work. This is my first time doing any cas work, any help would be appreciated!

I highly doubt it is possible. When making an item of clothing an accessory, we delete every uncovered part of the body (as in, everything that is not clothing). To understand it better, clone a bracelet or something like that, export the blend and open it. You'll see that the bracelet mesh, unlike clothing, has no body attached to it ( you can unfold rig and hide body parts to see it better). So what you should do instead is just: - pick the shirt you want the sim to wear, back up its package, open it in s4s, export the blend, open it; - switch to Edit mode (TAB), switch to Vertex Select, disable Limit selection to visible (the icon next to Face select); - holding Ctrl, lasso-select all vertices you want to delete BUT the last (from fingers to the shoulder) vertex loop, Delete - Faces; - select the vertex loop you did not delete, Alt-M - At center, G to move it inwards; You can make the edge smoother by adding extra edge loops with Ctrl R (hover over the place where you want to insert the edge loop) or Subdivide button in Tools tab, making them bigger with S. Save the blend, import in s4s, save. If you want your sim to wear something else, do the same on that outfit, it's very fast to do.

I was able to do everything up until we got to step 4... I suppose I don't really understand? Delete what? I apologize, I don't know anything about how to work with the faces and vertices, I only make animations and poses so I don't know much about the rest of the program.. thank you for your help thus far!

- click Create 3D mesh ( 2 ) or, if you want to edit someone's mesh, click My Projects ( 1 ) and find it. If you're using someone's cc, make sure to copy it somewhere outside of Mods folder bc it will be overwritten; - export the blend ( 3 ), open it. If there is only one s4studio_mesh_1, press Tab to switch to Edit mode. If there's more, click on the eye icon next to their names to find the one that you need, then switch to Edit mode; - press A to deselect, switch to Vertex select ( 4 ), disable Limit selection to visible ( 5 ). Holding Ctrl, lasso-select what you would want to delete( 6 ), press Delete key and choose Faces ( 7 ); - lasso-select the last vertex loop ( 8 ), press Alt-M, choose At center ( 9 ); - press G and move the center vertex like on the pic ( 10 ); - choose Select - Select More/less - more ( 11 ); - press E to extrude and move the selection, like, outward. Press S to scale down the selection like on the pic; - you can make it smoother with Mesh - Edge - Bevel ( 12 ) ( Shift-click on the vertex in the middle, once you click on bevel, move the mouse kind of like to the bottom-left side ); - save the blend, import it in s4s, save.
