This was asked a while back by other users a few times, and none of those had seemed to get any answers, but I am crossing my fingers here.
Clearly someone knows how to get them being that pets cc is being made. Does anyone have or know how to get the UV maps and placement maps for large dogs? I'm finding it too difficult to work on projects while trying to just guess where things should be placed.
If anyone knows how to find all of that, I'm okay with that as well. I'd just ask for a moderately detailed explanation, as I'm a beginner to all of this and don't do well with vague explanations :')

It depends on what you're making. Have you checked existing content to see which UV space they use - i.e. checking a collar and seeing where the texture for that collar is placed.
I don't believe there is a UV guide for dogs/cats like the ones available for human (but I may be wrong).

Hi! I don't have Pets so i can't really help you with accessories, i do have the body but that doesn't really help with this. If you could clone one of each and share the blend i can set the texture map if you want. I would need a collar, a hat, and a body accessory. Your texture is in the wrong orientation. The main Diffuse texture and Specular for Pet CAS items should be horizontal, not vertical.  Only the Normal Map and Emmission Maps should be vertical and should only include the accessory area. If you need more clarification then clone a full body item for a dog and see how the textures are set up. |

Yay! Thank you kindly jwofles :D This is the rough uv. If there's any other categories i should add (i honestly have no idea hehe sorry!) just let me know. I'm saving the PSD for future edits just in case. All animals are mapped the same. Might differ on cats vs dogs, but the sizes don't matter. if everything is fine, i'm adding this with the other uv templates.  |

The main difference I noticed between cats and dogs is that the eyes for a cat are mapped either side of the waist instead of by the mouth details like on a dog.

I've recently created a quick bootleg Cat UV map with the right hand side remaining the same as inabadromance's original UV for the dog! (so things may not be all in the right places) Feel free to tweak and edit it with the other cat things ~  |
