Hello. I recently decided to have a go at recreating Zerbu's old abandoned mod to add a "Plan Career Outfit" to dressers, closets and mirrors.
I've got it working so that the interaction shows up and Sims can successfully change what their career outfits look like.
Does anyone know of a way to prevent the option showing up though if a Sim is actually unemployed and so doesn't have a career outfit? If a Sim with no job uses the interaction it just changes whatever outfit they are wearing at the time of selecting the option instead.
I know very little of coding outside of tweaking existing code so this is probably the most in depth I have gone so far by following the instruction of scumbumbo. This mod makes use of their XML Injector which you will need to have in your game if you want to try and help me out with my file. Without it mine won't work at all.
Any help is much appreciated even if it is just to tell me that testing if a Sim is unemployed or not can't be done.
ETA: I took a look at the tuning for the Determine Baby Gender social that is unique to doctors and found the game can test if a Sim has a certain career. What I still don't know is how to impliment that into what I want to do.

Just giving a little bump. I've not managed to make any progress on my own yet.

Hey menaceman44 , In our "No Automatic Promotions" mod, we used this in the interaction tuning tests to prevent sims that didn't have a job (school is considered a career but not quittable) from trying to ask their employer for a promotion: <V t="career_test"> <U n="career_test"> <V n="test_type" t="has_quittable_career" /> </U> </V>

Thanks Andrew, that seems to have worked a treat. Quick question though, how do you know where to place it in the code? I added it into my code where I thought made sense in the section with the rest of the tests but it didn't have any effect. I had to open your promotion package to see where you had placed it and move mine accordingly before it worked in mine.

Glad it worked for you mod I think that I just lifted that from the phone_QuitCareer interaction, but you can always look at the tuning description files provided by EA if you don't have an example to look at.
