Excuse me Orangemittens, I've managed to edit meshes with blender, but when i try to edit the 2d textures with paint or gimp it says it can't read the file and refuses to open it. Do I need to convert it to another format before it can be opened?
More accurately i just figured out that i can import normal images as textures but they don't fit the texture size/format, so i need to know how to make the original exported texture formats usable for gimp and paint editing.

I'm an idiot XD watched tutorial about needing plugin and clicked the link XD. New question now that i have the file on the computer how to i apply it to gimp i have no clue XD

nevermind the how i downloaded the wrong file i'm now installing the older gimp so i can run the file XD workin on it

I have the plugin installed and the dds file put in the bin folder but i still can't open dds files XD

looking at other programs found something called paint.net which i was told can edit dds programs easily, bout to find out

paint.net is the way to go i'd reccommend it to your future users even :D

the images from paint.net don't have ddxt compression whatever that is

had to copy and paste in new image with same proportions and give it the dxt5 when the menu pops up with mipmaps :D I'm learning XD
