Hello! I was doing a new mesh for a chair and noticed that it comes with 3 DST images; bump map, specular map and...this one that I have no clue what it is. I tried looking around but couldn't find an answer. It kind of looks like the shadow maps for clothing that dictate where to apply shine, but according to tutorials those type of maps only apply to clothing, not objects. Any ideas? Thanks!

It's the snow map. This map is to select where to snow will be placed when putting the object outside the house.

Ah, makes sense! However I am having an issue with the chair having these weird shadow lines in a specific spot that changes as you zoom in or out. There's no bump map, no specular map, I even removed the snow map. I've never seen this happen. What could it be?

I think it still have something to do with your bump map and/or specular map.. You need to import a blank bump map and specular map. They can be found here. replace them with these maps and try to check ingame again.

It changes as you move the camera, kind of like an "off shadow" of sorts. Odd..

Is it, if you move the camera sort of reflecting? If so I'm almost 100 sure that it is your specular. Maybe you can share your .package file?

I'm using the blank specular provided in this forum, so it would be odd if it were acting up, unless the resolution of them must match the diffuse texture? Not sure. Here's the package.

Hi, I took a look at your package file and like I said it was the specular. I replaced them both (bump and specular) with the ones that I use. HERE

It would be helpful if you could place your chair in a location so that there isn't a window shadow being cast over it when you take your screenshots. Are you referring to the thin dark lines at the back where the seat meets the back rest? They look as though they may be caused by the game's ambient occlusion. Smoothing out the curve by using Remove Doubles on that section of the mesh reduces the effect but doesn't remove it. You may want to do that anyway on all of the sides that should have a natural, smooth curve to remove the blockiness of the lighting. The ambient occlusion can be removed by editing the mesh entry in Studio.
Go to the Warehouse view. Scroll down to the Model LOD entry that looks like your mesh on the right. Click on the Data tab on the top right. Click the Edit Items button. In the new window click on Phong. Scroll down the right to the Material section and then click the Edit Items button next to Entries. Click on the first entry in the new window and then click on the Edit Items button on the right. Find the entry for SSAOIntensity and click on it. Change the value on the right from 1 to 0. Click Save. Repeat this for every other entry in this window. When you are done click Save and then Save again. Test it in game to see if the lines have gone.
You will then have to repeat these steps for your other LODs once you have made and imported them. Make sure to do it BEFORE you add any more colour options.
