I'd like a batch fix for tubs/showers and the "too many slots" object crashing. And also for the beds!

Hi All, ty for the reports about custom content items broken by the last patch. Studio will add batch fixes for the broken stuff. The way you can help speed up the process is by providing a package that has the problem. If you don't want to post a link to the item in this thread, please feel welcome to send the package(s) to me or Andrew in a PM. Hopefully, the issue(s) won't take too long, and we will be able to start getting batch fixes out over the weekend.

I also have that Naomi bookcase/wardrobe combination, and they didn't crash for me.
Edit: I believe I have the older version of it. I'll download the newer one and see what happens. Edit 2: Confirmed. I had the old ones. Placing the 2.0 version of Naomi's stuff crashed my game as well.
Edit 3: I looked at the slots/rigging for the left-side Naomi bookcase in S4S and there is an absolute TON of slots set up. No wonder it's crashing. It probably exceeds some new max slot count for objects. Edit 4: Bingo! That was it. I deleted all but 1 slot from the left-side Naomi bookcase and placed it in the game just fine without causing a crash. That's most likely something Onyx needs to address. Edit 5: I set up the left-side Naomi bookcase to have 12 slots, and it worked fine. I'll do the same for the right side. I've no right to distribute these changes, however, so Onyx needs to fix her version. Edit 6: Emailed Onyx with my updated versions. She might not use those exact copies, but I repositioned the slots on the right bookcase (they were colliding with the geometry) so at least she has a reference.

I hope that I can explain this right. Seems EA changed the basegame meshes, whatever was recolored or cloned from the base game meshes don't work after installing Discover University. The new, added content like hats, sweat shirts, full body tracksuits, shorts, joggers, cardigan with shirts, etc are not showing properly in the game. Is it possible to get a batch fix for that? Just wanted to know before I go fixing all my recolors one by one. I'm in tears thinking about it. Here's a link to my Tumblr post about this issue, picture is in the post. blewis50.tumblr.com/post/189080532622/a-heads-upHere's a link to one of the affected EA meshes I recolored but don't work in the game now. simfileshare.net/download/1452216/

I'm not modder, nor a CC creator– and my game is wicked broken. like, can't load in broken, so I can't test anything.
But, in theory, would any CC computers or laptops need to be fixed as well? because they added a new interaction with claiming/assigning computers with university? so, uh, a batchfix for computers/laptops to be compatiable may be required.

Question. Did you selectively clone your recolors, or were they stand-alone? Since meshes travel with stand-alone copies, I can't imagine those would be affected.

I just made the update today since i was going to play the game. It opened normally with mods but when I try to open a house to play it leaves the game. Doesn´t give my any error , just leave the game...

Before launching the game, try removing any CC bookshelves/dressers/wardrobes, then launching.
Alternatively, go to an empty lot and start there. Have a pencil and paper handy, and write down (before you place it) any CC for bookshelves/dressers/wardrobes, and when it crashes upon placing a particular item, you know what you need to remove. I had six that I needed to pull out. Two I fixed myself, the rest I just deleted because I hardly ever used them.

Thanks, xordevoreaux! I reached out to OnyxSims on Tumblr but recently saw that they answered another simmer's question about the bookshelves. Their response to fixing them was: "I no longer make objects and will no longer provide support for them." I was wondering if you could get their permission to share your fixed versions, since they've made it clear that they don't plan to share one themselves? Or send them your package files with permission to update their post with yours? Or if you feel comfortable sharing the older versions you mentioned had no crash, I'm sure we'd all be grateful! Of course, no pressure to do anything you're uncomfortable with but I use those shelves in every single household & would hate to no longer have them. Not sure this is an issue that can be fixed with a batch fix :/

It was standalone.

It was standalone. I do not have University yet so my meshes should not be distorted. I downloaded your tracksuit and exported the meshes.
When importing them, mesh 0 = LOD 0 and so forth. Hope that helps.
Edit: the "default" meshes are from a yf jumpsuit exported from my game. Might want to try those first.

Heya, I've started looking into the slot issue. So far, I've been able to verify that the Naomi bookcase crashes my patched game. It has 216 slots. Meanwhile, a slotted fireplace I made that has 136 slots did not crash my game. I'm working on determining the exact combination and number of slots that causes the game to crash. However, no matter what this new slot limit turns out to be, it is arbitrary and, obviously, probably not necessary. Once I know the precise number of slots or slot combinations that crashes the game, I plan to address this new arbitrary limit with EA. It would not surprise me in the least to find that this issue was an unintended consequence on their end that they might be willing to back out with a patch. For this reason, I recommend that everyone sort of wait on this issue to see what the company says about the problem. Clearly, the best outcome for CC creators would be for EA to remove this arbitrary slot limit that they introduced in the last patch. Importantly, the community has spent the last several years working on slotted items for a game that did not have an arbitrary limit on the number of slots an item could have. Edited to add: Since I posted here, I have also posted about this problem at the EA forum HERE. For people who are not members there, this is the important part of what I posted: "Since the last patch, there have been numerous reports about broken items with custom deco slots (bookcases, tables, shelves, etc.). The problem appears to be the addition of an apparently arbitrary limit on the number of bones an item can have. This change has impacted packages with custom added slots, causing these items to crash the game. Before this patch, there was no reported limit on the number of deco slots that could be added to an item that functioned in the game. Since this patch, no mod can have more than 195 bones in the rig resource. This limits the number of slots that an item can have and still function in the game. The result is that many CC items are now causing the game to crash. People have been making Sims 4 CC items with more than 195 bones for years. Thus, this change is causing a very large number of items to crash the game. Fixing this on our end would require all creators to modify all the creations they've made for the last several years. What we're hoping is that EA will back out this possibly unintended change so that the years of work our community has put in on an enormous amount of content does not require creators to fix all of these many items. There is no graceful way for us to fix this with a batch fix, and making these items game-safe would reduce their appeal to players (it would require removing slots that players want). I would like to emphasize that this change is impacting a very large number of CC packages. If examples of the problem are needed, please let me know, and I will provide them." All we can do now is wait for EA to look into the issue. Hopefully, they will fix this on their end so we don't end up with hundreds of broken items with custom slotting.
