I know how to open up an Object in the Warehouse tab and change the DisplayIndex, but is there a way to do this in batch?
I want to go through and group different Artist's stuff together so that they are more organized in CAS. For example, Anto hair is "almost all" showing up at the bottom of the CAS order for Hair. I would like to be able to change the rest of the Anto hair to be grouped together. If I do this individually for each hair, it will take forever. I would need to open each hair and then select each CAS entry to change the DisplayIndexes.
What I would like to be able to do is to run a Batch for each Artist's sub-folder and have it change all of the DisplayIndexes to one I specify.
I know how to write Python if that is what is needed or if there is already a mechanism to do this sort of thing.

There is no such batch fix.

There is no such batch fix. I was wondering if there was a way for me to write a script to do the Batch fix? Or are the batch jobs too complicated?

I'd like to bump this because I too would find this incredibly useful.

I would also like to bump this.
I'm someone who is really particular and OCD about how my CAS catalogue is organised, and it legit frustrates the hell out of me when CC creators are either inconsistent with the Display Index Number (example, I just updated all of [someone's] hairs, and their hairs were all either DIN 10, 15, 99 or 30. How the hell am I supposed to find your stuff in game?). I prefer to use a spreadsheet for CC creators, and give them all a unique number so they appear together, and aren't mixed in with EA and other CC. I KNOW this sounds a bit extreme, but it's how I play.
I would love/need a batch fix for this issue.

I also think this would be a really helpful update. Mostly I want to be able to easily separate my vanilla items from my CC items, but the ability to easily sort different CC creators would be lifechanging.

Further bumping this. Would love and appreciate this feature! Even if I could just change the index number for all the cas parts instead of having to type individually.

Hi. S4S said it is possible to make batch fixes for CAS parts but they would rather not add them because it can mess up the file

Hi. S4S said it is possible to make batch fixes for CAS parts but they would rather not add them because it can mess up the file I think I don't understand. There already are batch fixes for CAS parts (f.e. AllowForRandom tag). So why not change display index in batch? Noone is forcing nobody to use this option so why not risk if someone want to? Sims 4 Studio is creating backup anyway... I have almost 15k CAS CCs from more than 380 creators so changing every single one would be a pain in the butt (Yes, I'm using and need more or less all of them)

Messing up the file is always a risk for batch fixes like that but I think most people would agree that the risk is worth it.

I also want to bump this and heavily request it, it would be so useful. I will beg if I have to. 😭 I've wished for this for years. Please.

Yes, please and thank you if this feature were to ever be added.
If it's something you never need to use, then it shouldn't cause a problem for you. But for those of us who'd like better organization to their content, the desires and potential benefits far outweigh any possible risks. I'd rather re-download every piece of CC I have all over again, than have to update each individual CAS object for items that have a ton of swatches (like hairstyles, for instance). But without being able to organize stuff, I feel like there's tons of CAS objects I don't use because they keep getting lost in the chaos.

I've been waiting for literal years for this to be an option. I have to do it manually for my 2000+ hairs right now and it's a massive pain, even with the help of Mod Manager and CAS Tools. It would be serious lifesaver, please please please make this happen

Do Mod Manager and CAS Tools make it any easier than S4S to modify display indexes? Right now I'm sorting some hairs and having to modify the display index for every single swatch individually is such a pain. If batch modifying DisplayIndex stuff is impossible then it would at least be much better if there was an "apply to all swatches" button next to the DisplayIndex.
