I've followed this and several other guides and I run into the same issue with every object I try. I can create the 3D mesh, import all the required info, and the item looks great. That is, until I plop the item into the game. Then, it turns this funky brown texture. I cannot figure out what is causing this. It looks fine in studio, in the game catalog, and even when I am placing the item. As soon as the mouse is no longer holding the object, it morphs. Attached is a picture of live mode and the same item in build/buy mode.

Hello. I'm having some technical problems to look at the mesh right now but I can write some possible solutions to see if you can solve it until i can get pictures done.
1. I believe you converted this from other game? if it is that so you might have messed up the UV maps. In blender, go to the uv tab and check for the names. It should be 2 UV maps and for objects it should be the same one. If one of them is different you can delete the wrong one and Studio will duplicate the correct one.
The Uv should be named uv_0. edit: just checked this, the uv map is fine.
I've had some issues when converting from other games because sometimes the uvs are already named different and i forgot to change that. Also as I told you before. You should make 1 uv map and delete others in the blender file. Studio will handle the second as it's the same as the first one. Sometimes, if you mess up with the uvs you get this distorcion in game.
2. Did you import your images in the correct form? If you're using .dds you should check mipmaps in the options and DXT5 Interpolated Alpha.
You can try using .png files also and not worring about mipmaps since Studio will handle them.
3. Did you import the Specular and Bumpmap from the original mesh in TS3?have in mind that the bump map would work but the Specular is done different in TS4, you can find tutorials in the form about it. If you want to go easy just blank them.
What item did you clone to import your plant mesh? I can't seem to find the Specular.. and there is also a DST image i don't know where it comes from... did you delete some resources in the Warehouse? It doesn't seem to be as it should.

Mathcope, It turns out the Specular map was the issue. I replaced it and the bump map with blanks since the TS3 version didn't use either as well. I also used .png for the textures this time just in case. Thank you!

Hi! Can you please post a video tutorial? Thank you in advance. My s3oc and s3pe can't open, and I only know how to do sims 2 conversions. I really want this kitchen set for s4 though. Can you please help me? Thank you in advance.

Is there a way to do this with Sims2Packs?

OMG IM firetrucking LOVING THE TUTORIALS!!! CONGRATS, YOU ARE REAL GENIUSES, REALLY!
I noticed that TTSR Workshop does import textures and meshes alike. Can I import from packages and sims3packs with TSRW and open it on blender, or does it not work properly?
OBS: I'm a newbie, totally dumb novice and just wanted to transfer my CC's from the sims 3 to the sims 4 for personal use, no intention on uploading or distribute (since I don't even remember where did I got the whole stuff and can't give the proper credits or ask the owner's permission to that)
OBS 2: Sorry for the bad english, I'm totally dumb on that too.

soslol I'm glad that you're enjoying the tutorials. However, I don't really understand what you're asking. You can use TSRW (or any other tool that would do the exporting) to export meshes from Sims 3 to a .obj file that can be imported to Blender, then, using the tutorials you can set it up to import into Studio and the game. No program will do this instantly pressing a button since the games have different setups and vary from each other. If you have questions about Blender and Studio you can ask them here, but we won't discuss anything regarding other programs here. Thank you.

Yup, I'm aware of that... It's just that I can't use s3oc or s3pe for some reason (I already have network 4.0 and double-checked the drivers needed to run the program, I just don't know what's the matter), so I Tried to use TSRW instead.
It worked, But I have two problems: first, the texture just does not "stick" into the object. I Tried to convert a rug, and it appeared in game but it was all gray and plain, Like a "crude" mesh... I followed every step of the tutorial, and Tried to do it over and over again, but the goddamm rug keeps being all weird and gray...
The second problem is converting exotic itens, like a throne converted feom the sims medieval to the sims 3, and now i am trying to convert to the sims 4. I use a chair as a mesh in ts4studio, but when the throne appear in game and my sim sits on it, the sim seems to be swalloed by the throne (wich is gray and weird too, just Like the rug)! Why is this happening? Should I change to sculpture instead of chair in the sims 4 studio?
Can you help me? Does it happened to someone else? Thank you already ><

soslol I think the problem could be that you didn't export the textures and then import them back in Studio? When you export a mesh with any program it is only the 3d structure without the textures. You would have to export the textures from the item you want to convert to reimport them back in Studio. In any case, you can open a thread in the Creators Help section HERE explaining the problem and (important) uploading your files. If we have access to your .package and .blend file we can see what's going on more accurate. It's difficult to tell without further information.

I kinda "fixed" the problem... For some reason I needed to apply the texture in the blender interface, otherwise it does not stick in the object. I managed to convert this way, and it works! But I have to save the game often because it crashes when I use something from ts3 conversion, any clue about why this is happening?
