Hi everyone,
This is my first "big" project! I've done some basic recolors and wall textures before with relative ease, but this one has me a little puzzled.
I am trying to create a "food truck" dining situation. I would like to take the chef station from the restaurant venue type and give it the espressoBar settings, so that sims walk up to it and place an order with the sim behind the station. Additionally, I also want to change the food options that sims have when ordering from the espresso bar (changing the cannoli option to chips and salsa, for example).
I have several questions, as I am struggling to find all the necessary knowledge repositories I will need to study to complete this project:
1) In the cafe, food is generally left on the side of the counter for sims to pick up. Is there a way to change the placement of the plates/drinks so they are on the edge of the counter in the passthrough? Is that a mesh edit of some sort?
2) Are the cafe object settings compatible with the chef station? I had read somewhere in a tutorial that objects placed in-game might disappear immediately because the rigging/slots are incompatible, and when I tested what I have so far (I tried just retuning the object with the espressoBar settings) the object immediately disappeared and won't stay placed. Any ideas?
3) Where do the settings for orderable food live? I see where I can access the objects (like the cannoli in all its forms), and I know I'll need to create a "to-go" state for any additional dishes, but how can I change the option that appears after clicking "order food"?
I would love if someone could point me in the direction of some tutorials that could help with my questions- I'm sure the answers to at least one of these isn't very straightforward, so if you point me in the right direction, I'll make a go of it myself!
Thank you!
