I'm trying to make a wall sculpture. What I'm having trouble with is the wall/floor cutouts (at least, I think they're called cutouts) I also can't get the mesh to import to S4S, I usually get an error message or just nothing happens. I thought it would be as simple as lining it up to the cutouts(?), but apparently not. I did find this tutorial, but it just doesn't make any sense to me. I can't really understand tutorials unless they're in a video format. Does anyone know of any video tutorials for something like this? I've been doing google searches, but all I can really find is decorating tutorials, not CC making tutorials.

I don't think wall cutout is the thing you want. A wall cutout is a texture used for cutting holes in the wall. What you have in your screenshot here is the wall shadow.
If you share your package and blend somebody would be able to see why your mesh won't import but I'm guessing you may have too many mesh groups or some other issue with your setup. It's not normal for a wall object to have a floor shadow like your appears to have.

I would recommend using a painting as a base because using the vent will make altering the wall shadow harder than it needs to be. It looks like it's not working at the moment because your original object has two mesh groups but you only have one in your blend and it has the wrong cut number. This tutorial explains in detail how to create a brand new object for the game> www.sims4studio.com/thread/856/finish-object-tutorial-absolute-beginnersIt's not a video but it does have lots of pictures. The basics to remember are that your new mesh must have the same number of groups as the original you are using as a base and must have the correct cut numbers. The wall/floor shadows must always be in a seperate mesh group to your main object.
