Hello All, I'm new to, well, everything custom related in TS4. I'm looking for a complete run-down of the steps I need to take to make a hidden door. I've recently installed S4S and Blender 2.8, but I have no idea where to even start. Here's what I need to do: Create a new mesh of an existing door that blends seamlessly into the texture of the surrounding walls and is usable by only one Sim. I want it to have multiple swatches of masonry/brick/wallpaper to choose from.
TIA, ToySpring
*Edit* If this isn't the right forum, please point me in the right direction.

Is it a completely new door that you want to create, or would recoloring an existing door work for you? You could take the mesh file of a door and modify it in Blender (I don't know how to do that though), or you can export the textures and recolor the door in a photoshop program. The latter seems easier to do from a beginner's standpoint.

You could try recoloring the door that's a bookcase. I can't recall the name, but I think it's relatively flat.

2.80 won't work with S4S, and this is the wrong forum. You should be in Creator Help. There isn't a tutorial to do this, so your best course is to just search the forums for threads and tutorials that might help you or be relevant, so object recoloring and new object meshes, etc.
I haven't made any meshes myself yet (and very few recolors), but I have a vague idea of how to achieve this. I recommend using the door that's a bookcase like Sparkiekong suggested, or choose a door that has very very little detailing to it (or take one and edit the mesh). Then gather all the EA textures for walls and apply them to the door as a recolor, this way they can blend into the wall as they will be using the same textures. The door may have an outline, etc. though and I believe that you will need to edit the shadows (both in Blender and the shadow map) to reduce it so the door isn't noticeable.
As for only one sim using it, that is up to you in game. Just click the door, or any door, and set the lock to just your sim.

Thank you all. I'll go get the right Blender and give this a shot. And thank you Yukii for pointing me in the direction of the Creator Help forum and the recommendations.
