Hello!
I have been working on my first project for a couple of days now and it is converting a top from Heros of the Storm to the Sims 4. I have gotten all the way to the point where I have put the meshes together, created matching UV maps and added my custom texture. My issue is that the added texture only sits in the bottom corner of the shirt no matter where the UV map is on the texture. I have tried looking up how to solve my issue but I have had no luck.
any help would be greatly appreciated!
Edit: I thought it may be useful to go more in detail about the steps I have taken.
1. Used cascview to extract the file and the mesh from the blizzard game files.
2. Installed and used an import-export plugin so I could alter the .m3 file format
3. Extracted the top from the model, added the texture to it in the image window and saved it as an .obj file
4. Used S4S and retrieved the mesh for the nude adult female top and opened it in blender
5. Imported the extracted top and created an Human-meta armature for the top so I could adjust the object to fit on the rig
6. Once I had it in the proper position, I applied the rotate, location and scale so it would stay in the proper position and then deleted the armature.
7. I then deleted the parts of the s4s UV mesh that would be covered up by the top
8. I clicked on my top and deleted the vertex groups and renamed UV Maps for my top to uv_0 and added uv_1 to the UV Maps section
9. I then deleted the materials for the top (for some reason the right arm had a separate material)
9. I joined together the top mesh and the s4s mesh by selecting the body mesh and then the top and joining them.
10. Opened gimp and altered the Sims 4 base texture, changed the size to 2018x4096px and added the tops textures to the bottom right hand corner of the base texture(below the hands) and saved it as a .png
11. In blender I then proceeded to the texture window and deleted the DiffuseMap_DiffuseMap.001 and add my altered texture image underneath DiffuseMap_DiffuseMap
12. Went into image editor in blender and unlinked datablock for the original BaseTexture and switched to my texture.
That is as far as I got when I hit this roadblock of the texture situation . I hope this edit helps.
