Hi all!! First off, I am extremely new to making CC and using S4S, so please bear with me as I don't really know what I'm doing yet. I've read through the tutorials and FAQs on the forums as best as I could, but I'm running into some issues with my first project.
What I'm trying to do is very simple (I hope). I just want create a recolor for the toddler hair with the bow (The ones named like pfHair_Sp12BobBow_). I want to make a version with a black bow and a white bow for each of the 9 hair colors that the toddlers have available in a vanilla game.
Ideally, I wanted to make them into additional part swatches that would appear when you selected that hair. So I followed the following process.
Open S4S > Select Add CAS Part Swatch Radio button > Select CAS Button > (Filter for Age: Toddler, Part Type: Hair) Ctrl+Click all color options for the hair I want > Click Next > Under the "Texture" Section, Select Export for each of the 9 hair colors > Edit the bow color in GIMP for each of the hair colors > Export a black and a white version of each hair color as a .png > Back in S4S, select "Add Swatch" to copy over each hair color and create a total of 18 swatches, 2 for each hair color > Select "Import" and then chose the white bow .pngs for swatches 1-9 and the black bow .pngs for swatches 10-18 > Under "Swatch Thumbnail" Select "Import" and add appropriate swatch thumbnails > Select Save
Everything shows up exactly how I want it to within the S4S preview for every color.
***This is my resulting .package file: CAS Part Swatch
When I put this in the game, in CAS, the swatch thumbnails I imported appear normally, but when I select them, the hair basically appears as if it has not been recolored at all, i.e. the bows on the black hair show up as pink, the bows on the red hair show up as green etc.
So next, I thought maybe I could work around the issue and maybe give myself some insight into what I'd done wrong if I tried to do it as a standalone instead. I followed the exact same process as above, except that I selected the "Create CAS Standalone" radio button in step 2.
Once again, it appears exactly as intended in the S4S preview, and this time, all of the top row (all of the white bows) appear as intended within CAS in the actual game, but the bottom row (the black bows) do not. They appear as exact copies of the top row.
*** Here is my resulting .package file: CAS Standalone
I do notice that when I make the standalone hair, the ones that aren't working are all of the ones I added using the "add swatch" button in the sims 4 studio, but I don't know if that's of any significance.
I'd super appreciate any help anyone can give me as I'm still brand new and this is my very first project. I tried my best to follow the tutorials and then to comb through the forums for any mention of this issue, but I just cannot seem figure out what I'm doing wrong. Thank you all in advance!!
