Some of my alpha hairs have recently started showing up in-game with these weird dark streaks like this After tinkering around in S4S I discovered that making the bump/normal texture blank fixed it, but gave it a shiny appearance. I didn't think to take a screenshot before I deleted it so here's one I found of the same issue: So it seems like editing the bump/normal texture might be able to fix it but I'm not sure how to do that without getting the shiny effect. Adjusting my graphics settings hasn't helped. I've tried setting them higher, lower, laptop mode on and off, etc., and it shows up like this (the shiny effect and the streaking) both in CAS and in live mode. Can anyone give me a suggestion on what to try next or how can edit the bump/normal texture? Here's a link to one of the hairs I'm having trouble with: www.thesimsresource.com/artists/wingssims/downloads/details/category/sims4-hair-hairstyles-female/title/wings-on1020/id/1464482/It seems to be mostly wingssims hair that's doing it, though I've seen it with a few others.

Try importing this normal map, making a normal map blank won't actually make the normal map blank, it will just remove the reference

Don't blank NM, it will cause this shiny glitch on items with simglass shader. Best way to edit incorrect NM is either to create a custom one for specific .package or import a blank NM liked by sigma1202.

Oop, that explains the shininess! Thanks for the blank file, it seems to have corrected the problem.
