Using Sims4Studio 3.1.2.4 (Wishes)
Sims 4 game is up-to-date, Sims quality is set to very high, laptop mode is off. I've read forum rules/FAQ, and tried searching for help without luck.
I wanted to add one whiter recolor to NewSea's free Janice alpha hair YU183f (for personal use), so I followed the tutorial sims4studio.com/thread/386/add-swatch-existing-hair-beginners with Photoshop CS6. Although it looked all right in the Studio, in game a glitch appeared on all colors including the new one. The glitch makes the hair color dark with a few scribbles through which the normal color can be seen. (Pictures at bottom, sorry I don't know how to make them smaller without reuploading to imgur)
Thinking I'd somehow messed something up, I took out my edited package file and re-downloaded an original untouched copy of the Janice hair. Strangely, the hair was still bugged in-game. I cleared the cache files, took out all cc/mods but the hair, turned off scripts, and even uninstalled and reinstalled the entire Sims4 game with a new save. Still bugged. My friend tested the same hair on her game, and it worked fine for her. I don't know for sure if adding a new swatch had anything to do with it. Somehow some code deep in my computer seems permanently corrupted for this hair.
If anyone has come across something like this before and has any hints, please let me know.
Unfortunately it may be an issue unique to my install, since my friend had no problem with her fresh cc dl.
I'd post the package but NewSea's policy is not to share their files on other websites. Also forum rules here say not to post a link to where it can be downloaded (although NewSea's website has an easy direct download link and a clean page, so I can if asked). I also have it on Dropbox; I assume since it's one of the free hairs it's fine to DM a link to that.
