Hi everyone!
I have this small problem that I want to retexture and override some pine trees and for some reason some of the "pine" trees are not actually evergreen but seasonal and I wonder how could I override them so that the needles don't change color or disappear when the autumn comes?

Unfortunately, the only thing I found was this under the Object Catalog, which solves at least one problem. I checked several pines (not all) and this was the only one that had this tag (treeLot_GP01GENdryPine01). Maybe the others you are aware of do as well. Just remove this tag and it should stop dropping leaves, and may possibly stop the color change.

edit. Thank you so much for your quick reply! My the problem is that I'm working on a Ponderosa Pine tree and it doesn't have that tag though it still changes to this weird dark color on autumn. one the left is how it looks like during fall and on right how it's supposed to look like. But the thing is I don't think the original tree textures actually changed during fall? I'm so confused. Thank you for trying to help!

I did a quick Google search as searching on here wasn't working, found this thread: sims4studio.com/thread/15055/solved-plants-change-color-seasonsEdit: Also found this one, transparency was mentioned as what controls it so maybe that is the answer instead. sims4studio.com/thread/14408/s4s-tree-textures-helpThe colored stripe they mention I had seen while working. It's the only time I've seen it, which means it's exclusive to plants and may be the key. I don't recommend deleting it, because deleting resources causes errors, so maybe try removing the Alpha parts they mentioned? Or see if you can replace the colored stripe with....all black or something. Orrrrr, track down where the stripe is referenced and remove/delete the reference so you can safely delete the actual colored stripe file/resource. Hopefully one of these options work?

Thank you so much for pointing me to the right direction! So after many trials and errors I made it work.
So to anyone who is wondering how to make the autumn color change work: if you want your custom texture to change to the same autumn colour as the original one you need to make sure the alpha shade (or should it be called opacity? alpha channel?) in the custom texture is the same shade as in the original. I don't know all the details yet but this is how I got my custom trees to change to kind of identical hues in the autumn. I noticed that also the color of the texture changes the darkness of the leaves a bit but I'm not sure how it works.
