Hey hey Been around (In the Sims community) since 2004. I had just discovered CC for Sims1 about 1 month before TS2 was released! I just generally recolour Maxis objects and the odd few CC pieces also mainly nurseries and kids rooms as I found the Maxis stuff a bit...er...blah... I find making new objects daunting so don't know if I would ever attempt it again (Very disastrous toddler outfit in Milkshape back in the day!). Have been stepping in and out of the community over the last 6 yrs as RL gave me a real baby as opposed to a pixel one. She's 5 now and at school so found myself getting more time to start recolouring again, I want all my TS2 "stuff" in TS4 as I'm a wee bit OCD for matching textures. Oh blimey, I haven't half rambled on there. Sorry. Anyway, I've started up a Tumblr page (as that's where everyone seems to have migrated to) and hope to share my new recolours soon. Hello and welcome! It's great to hear that you've been playing around with making cc. It's never as easy as some people make it seem, but recoloring is still a legitimate form of custom content which is enjoyed by many people in the community. Now that you've got this extra time on your hands, you can always give blender another go if you're up to it, but of course, it's not necessary. Speaking of, making a simblr isn't necessary either! There are tons of great sites online for sharing content and it all depends on what's best for you. Some people set up simblrs, others are on ModtheSims or The Sims Resource and others create their own blogspot or wordpress website. And, of course, this website is a great place to share cc as well. Whatever you choose in either creating or sharing cc, I wish you the best of luck going forward!

Hi, my daughter and I are new here at this Forum, She in school, I'm at home working. We both enjoy playing the sims 4, but we both need more time to make work. Right now I'm trying to update everything and including Andrew's Pose Player.

Hi, my daughter and I are new here at this Forum, She in school, I'm at home working. We both enjoy playing the sims 4, but we both need more time to make work. Right now I'm trying to update everything and including Andrew's Pose Player. Hello to you both! I think it's awesome that you two are able to bond over a mutual love for the sims! If you want to get into modding, the first place I recommend checking out is our list of tutorials HERE. It can seem pretty daunting, so just pick the tutorials that sound the most interesting and you'll be great. If you ever need any help, you can ask for it HERE, but I'd check that forum to see if anyone else has already experienced the same problem as you before posting (of course, it's not a necessity to create cc if you want to be on this site). I hope you and your daughter are able to find everything you need/want on this site and that your time on here is a good time! Happy simming!

Hi! My name is Fresco. After years of casual Simming I'm finally taking the plunge to start creating custom content, and I'm so grateful to this project for making a tool that works for Mac users! I joined to participate in discussions, ask questions, hopefully answer some for other people as I learn things, and eventually (I hope) share something I'm proud of! I also joined because when I was looking around for a way to create a DDS file on Mac, I ran into a lot of other CC creators with the same problem. I ended up using www.aconvert.com/ to convert PNG files that I recolored in GIMP and it worked great! I'm very new around these parts so I wasn't sure if that's old news or if someone has found / built a better solution, but I wanted to share just in case it might help anyone.

I don't have a Mac so I can't vouch for whether or not this was a known trick, but hopefully, someone gets some use out of it! It's great to hear that you've been enjoying learning how to make cc and I'm excited to see what you end up sharing in the future!

Hi there! I'm a 27 year old data scientist and grad student. I've been playing The Sims since 2002, but somehow never got into making my own mods.
I joined today because I just downloaded today's game patch and I wanted to try to update my installed mods myself instead of waiting for the creators to do it (if that's a kosher thing to do). However, as someone who knows a little Python and a LOT of R, I'm pretty excited by the idea of making some mods of my own! I'm hoping my R background will make learning to do it easier!

Hello and welcome go scientific and grand student that's interesting! (the patch came out ... rightly they appeared in tumblr so many news xD) If I'm too lost Well, I'm glad you want to make your own mods(and try to update the mods of other creators for use personal)because something starts so I think it's a good idea even if you know something about python, take a look around here sims4studio.com/thread/15145/started-python-scriptingI also recommend that you read ts4 custom content guide (at least in my view) it was something I think they were called tsdesc This: forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/955859/1-50-67-tdescs(but for this patch I do not know if they would be others or not) I lost the thread of that a lot ago xD this: forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/779844/maxis-documentationok I already confused you for sure (there are many experiences of putting a lot of information that can serve but in the end I end up dizzy to everyone haha) but maybe my advice is that you first do runs with the neia program since it uses python thatwww.simneia.fr(program of careers) or also do traits (but using the ts4 custom content guide) not the zerbu program that is, replace the trait, change the image, the description .. and do different things as if he is happy or sad well I think you can xD since it's like the world of mods is not only python For example this does not require python: littlemssam.tumblr.com/tagged/tutorials(traditions) in short I wish you many success nwn

Hello Simsters!
I go by SimDistic but the name is Tori Faey. I've been playing sims since the game cube days but fell off the map-- I was broke haha. Today, I'mm still broke-- I work for an indie film company-- but able I'm to pay for my gaming needs!
When I came across Mods and CC I was, with no exaggeration, shocked and blown away. Fascinated, curious and a little jealous of all the goods, I had to know more! When I found out more about mods and that you could create them, I knew this was about to go down! However to be honest, I know I'm missing parts of making a great mods. Finally with a super clear schedule I am taking the full dive!
I'm here to learn, meet super cool peeps, and to create a few good mods in the process. Some of ya'll might get annoyed by me, I tend to ask loads of questions, I like to be thorough!
Welp, see you around peeps! Thanks in advance for any and all help! <3 <3

It's great to hear your enthusiasm and it'd be super interesting if you're able to update the mods before the creators! I'm sure your coding skills will come in handy when you start modding. I haven't tried doing anything with coding in the past, so I'm not much of a help, but Monas did provide you with some good resources. If you're ever stuck, you can see if someone else has had the same problem as you HERE. If not, feel free to ask! I wish you the best of luck in your modding journey! Hello Simsters! Hello, all! My name is Aqueelah (pronounced "uh-kee-luh"), and I've been a member for a short while, but I'm shy. I've been Simming for quite some time - off and on since 2002, when I received a free copy of The Sims when I bought my first computer (a Gateway; remember them? ). I've dabbled in creating, mostly paintings for Sims 1 and Sims 2, and a few houses for Sims 1 (my Cocoa Box was my favorite). I missed out on Sims 3, but I came back started playing Sims 4 last year, and my addiction has grown. I just turned 40 in February (YIKES!), but thankfully, I still look like I'm in my late 20s. I'm from Chicago, IL, and currently live in Brooklyn, NY. I work as an academic advisor at a college, and I am also a graduate student, finishing my Master's in Data Analytics & Applied Social Research with a focus in Media & Marketing. Next semester is my last (I will be completing my thesis), and I will be moving back to my hometown after I am done. I'm totally in awe of how far the game has come, and I am looking forward to learning more about creating, as I've always wanted to go beyond paintings. Catch ya later! -A.

Thank you for coming out of your shell to give such a great introduction, it's so great that you're working on your Masters and how passionate you've been with the game. There is a stereotype that only kids play games like the Sims but this community has such a wide age range and I love it! I'm glad you feel ambitious and want to expand your creativity with modding! If you haven't already, check out the tutorial list HERE and try some new things out! If you ever get stuck on a project, you can check HERE to see if anyone else has encountered that problem. If not, feel free to ask for help, there are so many helpful people on this site! I hope you continue to break out your shell and feel free to join in different conversations on the different forums; we're all a friendly bunch here! Happy simming!

Hola, I've had an account for ages and recently asked some stupid questions, so I thought I'd introduce myself quickly :D I'm Alina, I'm 26, from Berlin but I currently live in Vienna where I'm doing my master's in Psychology. Normally I'm one of those people who plays the sims for 80 hours straight and then doesn't look at it for the next half year, but recently I'm more "active" - although tbh I often only create sims, which takes me a VERY long time, and then rarely play with them for very long cause it bores me quickly... I only own the basegames tho (cause I don't have money haha), maybe that's one reason why I've used s4s for deleting swatches, changing tags, (un)merging packages etc. for a long time (it improved my life so much <3), but I only recently got into recolouring and even though I'm only doing very basic recolours, I'm having so much fun and at the moment I spend A LOT of time doing that (more than I spend actually playing the game haha)... maybe some day I'll learn how to do more complex things, but for now I'm good Thanks so much y'all for all the work you put into s4s and into this forum!

I don't own a Mac so I can't personally help you with your problem. That being said, this thread isn't the most appropriate place to look for help. I'd suggest posting HERE and then explaining, with more detail, what's wrong and what steps you've done in trying to fix it. The community here is extremely helpful so I'm certain you'll be able to get the help you need in no time. I wish you the best of luck! It's great to hear that you've been utilizing s4s and have been participating on the site, even if it is just asking questions. Thank you for being on here and I hope you continue to enjoy s4s and we'll enjoy to have you here!
