Nice to have you here with us Tiff, I hope you find the community here as helpful as I did! The moderators are very nice and the resources you can get here are really useful and helpful. I myself started mainly with Sims 3, but never really made content for it since they didn't have something as easy to use as the Sims 4 Studio for it. Studio makes it very easy to make your own awesome content and this forum here makes it easy to share what you make if you wish to allow other people to use your content you make! Hardest part for me when first starting out was doing clothing textures and stuff, I got better at it though the more I practiced. Anyways, once again thanks for joining us and hope you enjoy your time here! Have a great day. |

Hello. I'm Michael, I started playing the Sims just this past spring (a couple weeks before it was free but I only paid like $4 for it) and am way too addicted to it already haha. I just downloaded S4S about a week and a half ago and I've already learned to do a few things like simple recolors, clayifying alpha hair, etc. Just today (which is what I spent all day working on) I figured out how to restrict Default Replacement Eyes and Non Defaults from showing up for Mermaids and Spellcasters. (all the occults showing for spellcasters was annoying me lol) I also figured out how to make non default eyes ONLY show up for spellcasters. Not sure why they didn't give them their own special eyes like the other occults, but heck if I'm not gonna have them in my game lol. Also if anyone can point me to some tutorials on mod constructor that would be great. I'm a huge Doctor Who fan and after I finish my 100 baby, I'd like to do the Time Lord Challenge now that Zero released a Time Lords mod, but I can't seem to track down a Time Lord/Companion Trait or Aspiration anywhere so I figured I'd take a shot at making them. Hi there. I've looked at there aren't really any tutorials on mod constructor apart from a youtube video. There are some help files with mod constructor, and discord channel,. but it needs more! |

hi all, Im literally new to the sims gaming world.. (how have i missed all this!!) anyhow..ive jumped right in, and having fun.. and CC has been a blessing.. so many talented people out there. Only issue I have all the CC i down loaded are all invisible :( Some people pointed me here, so i used the studio.. i can se all the CC have meshes, so im not sure why they are all invisible Anyhow, first of many problems no doubt! nice to meet you all Hi there. This isn't a good place for troubleshooting as it's really for introductions and the people who are good at troubleshooting may not look here. I think post in the creator help forum with a screenshot of the invisible item and a link to the package. Someone can then have a look at see what's going on. |

I started playing Sims back in 1999 When We were having our first child, my cousin came to visit her and I played sims all day until her boyfriend came by with a car load of friends to pick her up. Boy friend comes in to get her leaving 3 friends in the car. Boy friend is showed the sims and leaves his friends in the car. one by one they came in to see what was taking to long and we were all playing with this one sim family totally sucked in ...... 20 years later here I am with a house full of kids and still playing the sims. I haven't adventured into too much over the past 20 years basic game play usually download a house sometimes I would try and build and house, but my sims always got trapped and hated my decorations so I would give up. It was worth the time for them to hate it. I decided after many years to play as my family again which i haven't done in maybe 10 years. I build our house using some mods and my sims don't hate it and can get around mostly ! I am moving on to my grandma house that was built in the 50's and isn't very updated ! this is a bit of a challenge I found many mods that would be perfect only yo find out they were for sims 2 or 3 ! talk about frustrating ! So I ended up here thinking maybe I could make some stuff on my own ! just downloaded it and finally found the plug in for saving stuff... That about it. I'm running on ios Mac 10.14.16

Great another Mac user! On 10.14 I'm guessing you haven't been forced to use legacy edition. Studio on mac has some changes from Studio on windows, however it's not that many. You'll probably find more changes from older versions of studio in some tutorials to the current one. I'm not sure what you mean by mods. Making mods that change gameplay is pretty hard. I'd start off with easier things like recolours, before you get into things that are complex. There are some great tutorials on this forum. If you are looking at making new shapes for things like furniture you'll need blender - start with the beginners tutorials on meshing. |

I feel like a sims dummy getting out side of basic gameplay.

I feel like a sims dummy getting out side of basic gameplay. For discover university the Sims increased its minimum requirements. For windows you now need a 64 bit operating system. For Mac users you now need Metal (all OSX is 64 bit). If your computer is below the new minimum spec you now need to use legacy edition instead. It doesn't work with discover university or any future patches.  help.ea.com/en-gb/help/the-sims/the-sims-4/the-sims-4-legacy-edition/ Info on legacy edition support.apple.com/en-us/HT205073 Macs that run metal For metal you also need a minimum of El Capitan (10.11), which you have. You are on Mojave (11.14), I'm stuck on High Sierra (11.13). However even though I'm using High Sierra I have to use legacy edition as my iMac is before 2012. If you go to Apple Menu then About This Mac it will tell you the date of your mac. For example mine says: iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2010). This is no good for metal. If you let me know which Mac you have I can let you know whether you need to run legacy edition. |

Heya! I'm very new here, so I don't really know what I am doing. I've played sims on and off since I was 9 or something (I'm 21 now :P). A couple of months ago I got really invested in creating characters and stories in sims 4 and I realised I could make it more ''realistic'' witch mods and custom content. And so I spend a lot (and I mean...A LOT) of time downloading mods. Now I've come to a point, where I want to try it myself - creating mods for Sims 4 :D. I especially want to learn to create careers and traits.
If anyone out there wants to help me get started, I would be so grateful, as I really have no clue as to how to make custom content and generally program :-*

HI I'm a big fan of the sims I 've been playing the sims 4 on Xbox one I have used the career.promote cheats all of them work except for the scientist one I looked it up and followed their guide nothing happens I am a fan of celebs I have been looming for a create a sims formula guide for creating celebrities but haven't found any yet I would like to create only fools and horses cast two broke girls cast and other celebrities of any one has formulas I could use I'd be really grateful thank you for your time guys and gals look forward to hearing from you soon thanks again from Chris hogarth

Hey everyone - I'm Wendy and I'm from the Netherlands.  I've been playing The Sims since the release of The Sims 2 , and I'm creating content for a few weeks now. This site helped me a lot with understanding blender and the whole process of creating normal (not transparent etc) clothing. Soo thank you for that!! I will need definitely some help to understand how to create transparent clothes or clothes with part fishnet, but I'm happy there is a creator help page for that :D. In real life, I'm having a business in private health care and I work at a facility for people with a mentally and/or physically disability <3 |

Hey all im Lashawna. This is the first time im posting on here even tho I've been apart of this site for sometime now. I dont know where I need to post this question, (honestly I swear I've looked all over the site but couldnt find the answers nor the exact location to post such things. Its really late atm maybe I missed something...) Anyways the question is: How do I add spellcasters to the batch fixes? I have only up to mermaids in the options and I have CC that isnt working with my SCs. Yes I've gone to sites to update but more creators abandon their work or tell people to use S4S to batch fix. I would like to do that instead of going through each one individually. Plus im not all tech savvy so I wouldnt know how to work out the different files. THANKS FOR ANY HELP AND SUPPORT!!! <3 |

Hi everyone! I'm Sifix and my profile says I joined in June 2016, so I've been lurking here for literal years and posted for the first time today. Better late than never, right? I started playing Sims when it first came out in the year 2000, and I first made CC (which was very basic and very low-quality and is hopefully gone from the Internet forever) for The Sims 2. I didn’t really get into creating until 2-3 years ago or so, though, and I've been uploading on TSR for just over a year. I spent ages teaching myself how to make stuff for Sims 4, mostly by obsessively reading all the amazing tutorials and posts on this forum. Some things would take me forever to figure out because I kept finding new and inventive ways to mess things up and I was too shy to post my issues here, so I just kind of waited around for someone else to run into similar problems and stalked their threads. Really I just wanted to say thank you for the hard work that goes into S4S and maintaining this wonderful, welcoming and unfailingly helpful community. Y’all are amazing.  |
