Not my first time here posting here, but I haven't been doing anything sim related in a while. Thought I'd get back to it! Welcome back! Feel free to look through the tutorials again to give yourself a refresher and I hope you have fun rediscovering the game and world of custom content! I look forward to see you jumping back into the community, regardless if that means choosing to make cc or just being a supporter to other creators! Either way, make sure to leave comments and thumbs up on people's cc because it can really mean a lot to your favorite creators! Happy simming!

Hello there everyone! I'm probablymothman, but I also go by Moth.
I've been playing the sims for a decent amount of time and decided to branch out and try my hand at creating CC. I'm still pretty new this, and would definitely consider myself a rookie.
I'm looking forward to meeting you all and seeing what I can learn here! :D

I'm still pretty new this, and would definitely consider myself a rookie. I'm looking forward to meeting you all and seeing what I can learn here! :D Welcome! It makes me so happy to hear you interested in starting your journey into cc creation, we all gotta start somewhere. I recommend (if you haven't already) heading over to our list of tutorials HERE and trying a bunch of them out. They really help you to get the basics down on how to use S4S and other third party programs like Blender. Once you start working on your projects, if you find yourself stuck, you can search for help HERE. Before making your own thread in that forum, check to see if anyone else had a similar issue to you and whether or not it was already resolved. If not, then ask away! After that, consider sharing your creations by opening up a creator studio HERE! Regardless if you end up posting any cc or not, make sure to leave comments and thumbs up on your favorite creator's creations because it can really make someone's day and shows how much you appreciate them! I wish you the best of luck in all the future projects you pursue!

Heeya, I'm 22. In my last year of musicale theatre. (supposed to graduate dec 2020...yikees)
Isolation has got me into playing sims 4, despite still having online classes, workshops etc which have been quite stressful aha. I'm very new to this but I've always loved creating arty things, I thought it would be fun to learn about custom content for sims 4.
Does anyone know how I can get Marvelous developer on windows for free without making an account and Photoshop on windows for free?? If you know where there's some good links/YouTube links to help a beginner gal out I'd be super grateful!
Can't wait to get stuck in and try something new!!

Hello, my name is Cain (Toe), I am a programmer who has recently got into Sims 4 and the whole idea of creating mods for a Sandbox games is extremely inticing. I currently am experienced in C# with some experience in Python. You can view all my old projects for other things on my Github.

What better time to try something new then when you're in quarantine? I'm sorry things have been stressful, but hopefully picking up this cc creating hobby will be fun! Before I give you pointers, we don't condone piracy of any programs, so I--or anyone else for that matter--can't provide you with any links or help with obtaining those programs for free. Also, just so you know, S4S is only compatible with Blender. So, even if you end up using any other 3D program, you would have to convert it to a Blender file before it can be compatible with S4S. However, the best free 2D editor that I can think of is Pixlr, it has a lot of similar features as photoshop, but there are probably better ones out there. Besides that, here are some great pointers on where to start in your cc making journey! First, you should check out our masterlist of tutorials HERE! There are a lot of them for different kinds of projects, but it's not a bad idea to try a few of them out just to get a feel for the program. After that, if you're having any trouble with your cc, you can see if anyone else has had similar issues HERE before asking for help yourself. Lastly, consider sharing your cc with the world by opening up a creator studio HERE once you've made something you're happy with! I wish you the best of luck in all your future projects! I think it's awesome that you're planning on using your previous knowledge to help you out with your future projects for The Sims 4. I recommend checking out our list of tutorials HERE and HERE to get a better understanding on how S4S works and how to create mods through this program. I will be honest though, most tutorials on this site are more geared towards making objects and clothes, rather than mods. You might also want to check out sites like ModtheSims and see the tutorials they have other there, too! I hope that was helpful and I can't wait to see the things you share in the future!

Hi all. I am very new and very new to all of this. I love the Sims and have been simming for years. I was told to "batch fix"? a set of fabric dining chairs and to be honest am totally clueless on where to begin. I'm exited to learn as much as I can about this new adventure. BTW the nickname is Prada2020, after by dog/girl that I rescued several years ago. I would appreciate any help or guiding me in the right direction. Thanks

Hello!!! I'm Louis and I'm a high school student who's trying to learn and do everything Quarantine has led me to make a decision to play TS4. Even though I'm kind of busy (school work and all) but I'm trying to make some time for it. I don't know why but creating mods is truly entertaining :D I know how to use blender and I'm trying to program, too. Seeing our community's creations has inspired me so much that I decided to try making my own CCs. I hope that I can meet a lot of talented people (and probably get stuck in TS4 too). Thanks.

Hello, I'm Sean from Florida. I'm not sure which thread to ask a question like this in, so perhaps someone can point me to the right place. I'm wondering why S4S isn't showing that I have Discover University installed. I wanted to mod the ping pong table, but the drop down doesn't indicate the DU pack. Help please!
EDIT TO ADD: Nevermind, I was running the old version. DOH!

I'm glad you're here but this thread is meant for introductions, not questions. However, since you're here, what you want to do is open up S4S, go to the top toolbar and click "Content Management." From there, you'll go Batch Fixes > Objects > Fix Dining Tables... If that doesn't solve whatever issue you were having, I'd seek more clarification from the person who suggested that solution to you in the first place. If you need any more help with this issue, don't post it in here, please. You can start a thread to ask for help HERE or, if the cc in question is your cc, HERE. I hope you're able to get that issue resolved asap! Hello, I'm Sean from Florida. I'm not sure which thread to ask a question like this in, so perhaps someone can point me to the right place. EDIT TO ADD: Nevermind, I was running the old version. DOH! Hi Sean! I'm glad your issue was resolved, however, this thread isn't the place to be asking for help with issues like that. For future reference, anytime you don't see items from a certain pack in S4S, you either have an old version of it or it hasn't been updated yet. If you're having any other issues with S4S, you can try asking for help by going HERE and seeing if anyone else has had a similar issue, if not, feel free to ask! Happy simming!

It's so exciting to see how eager you are to join this community of talented creators! I'm glad you're enjoying the tedious, but rewarding process of cc creation and I hope you'll continue to have fun as you start to release your items. I'm sure you've already checked out our tutorials, but I'm going to link it again HERE because it's never a bad idea to try a few things out that might not be in your comfort zone. If you're having any issues with a project, you can always go HERE and see if anyone else has had a similar problem that you're facing; if not, feel free to make a thread and ask for help yourself. Last but not least, it's not a requirement to post the creations you make (obviously), but if you feel comfortable enough to do it, I highly recommend making a creator studio HERE to share your work. Even if you feel like no one would want your cc, this community is so huge that I'm positive there'll be tons of people who'd love to have your creation in their game! Good luck on all your future projects and happy simming! Hello I´m Marisa from Argentina, the quarantine make me come back. I hope we can be friends again and sorry for the time I was absent Welcome back! At the end of the day, making cc is a hobby and it's your freedom to come and go from this hobby as you please. Now that you're back, enjoy interacting with the community and making sure to comments and thumbs up on your favorite creator's pieces because a little love can go a long way! If you need a little refresher on cc creating, feel free to flick through the list of tutorials HERE. Maybe you can even try out things you've never attempted before for fun! Hey everyone! I have been busy busy familiarizing myself again with Sims recolors and found a bigger brighter Sims world from the TS2 world I quit playing oh so many years ago. I love designing houses, building them and then doing the interiors. Recoloring things to give things a fresh look. Or vamp up something that maybe didn't provide to many swatches initially. Recoloring is coming along easier than the building. TS4 is nothing like it was in TS2. Seems it was more simplified then, but I love all the new things I'm seeing that can be done with TS4 build mode. I'm really looking forward to diving in and designing some really cool houses and businesses. Next to build mode, I'd say that doing wallpaper recolors is my next favorite. I also like to share artwork I've accomplished over many years in the recolors of the paintings I do. I dont always use my art, but I do much of the time.
Thanks for this wonderful community! I was so excited to see this community here!! Absolutely AWESOME! The talent that I've seen in the Studio is amazing and the things being done are stunning. Thank you all for all you do!! Admin and forum mods, thank you as well!

Wykkyd ~Wykkyd's Majestic Designs Welcome!! I for one commend you for sticking with cc-creation since Sims 2. Sims 2 was the first Sims series game that I played and I have a lot of respect for the custom content creators from that game for inspiring me to eventually make cc myself. I'm glad to hear that you're getting great use out of S4S and that you've already started posting in your Creator Studio! In case you didn't know, if you ever have any issues with your cc, you can seek help HERE! Of course, make sure to check and see if anyone else had a similar issue before you before posting. Besides that, make sure to support your fellow creators by leaving thumbs up and comments on their creations. What goes around, comes around! I can't wait to see more of your creations in the future! Happy simming!
