Hello, thought I join the club and put a few words about myself here. I've been a systems programmer using various languages (asm, c, c++, java, and now python), messed around with Java3D, loads of graphics since DeluxePaint on the Amiga to Photoshop on my Macs. Gammer to the max - to where I must build my own gaming box, so just totally geek type of guy living in the sunny southwest US. I've been messing around with the Sims since Sims1 (actually was into SimCity1) and with Sims2 I got interested in creating CC for the game just to see what it entails. I found that meshing was a bit difficult to master and there was already quite a bit of CC for the Sims2 and later with the Sims3 so I lost interest. But with Sims4, I'm returning to the task of creating my own CC now and found your tool and must say it works nicely. I've haven't yet tackled Blender but will eventually, for meshing is where I want to go. Getting there is another story, since I do like to play the sims too . So I'll be lurking around, keeping up with the updates and learning as I go along. Love your tool, simple and to the point, and big thanks for creating it!

Hi Zembee, it's great to meet you. If you have a preferred 3D editor Blender can also serve as a bridge to that using .obj and .fbx. Several members are using 3ds Max and at least one person I know of is using Maya. Blender is what I use and it's very powerful. So much so I still learn new features it has regularly. I'm glad you like the tool and have joined the Studio forums

Hi margeh75, it's great to meet you! You have a lovely blog and the polka dot mesh dress you made is one of the prettiest garments I've seen for Sims 4. Welcome to the Studio forums

I am the creator behind Sim a Little Dream a Lot, which has been online since Sims 1 days. I migrated from SimCity and never really looked back. My main interest in modding back in the day was custom animation, but when Sims 2 came out I saw a great opportunity to help more players cross over to becoming cc makers, so I volunteered thousands of hours to helping people try it for themselves. Took me quite a while to twig to the fact that "shopping" is a huge and perfectly valid part of the sim "playing" experience. I even do it myself, although I normally only window shop, I enjoy it as much as anyone else.
I know your wonderful work on Sims 4 Studio, which is so easy a tutorial is hardly even necessary, has given many more people a chance to try cc making for themselves, which will result in more fun for everybody. I downloaded it and tried it and I think it's just marvelous. It looks and works great, both in my opinion important to super success, so congrats and keep up the great work!

Welcome to the Studio forums deedee. I'm familiar with your site Sim a Little Dream a Lot and it's great to meet the creator behind such a great site. I really enjoy helping others cross over to becoming CC makers too so I understand what you mean. If you feel like jumping in and helping people here feel free. The more our community helps each other the more it grows and the better it is.

Hi, everyone. I have been playing and recoloring The Sims since the original game came out. I have this penchant for customizing everything around me, so of course, I have customized my Sims. I find that it is easier in the The Sims4...but I need to be able to recolor objects very shortly. Practicing and waiting. Waiting and practicing. By the way, on MTS I am Davinia (the name of my favorite Sim from TS2)

Hi, my real name is Laura. First let me say, THANK YOU!! to the creators of The Sims 4 Studio! I love it!! I'm 63 years old, retired from many years in marketing and advertising and back to being a housewife again *YAY* Iv been married twice, first time for 25 years. I have two grown daughters ages 40 and 42. I met my 2nd husband in online in 1999 (after my divorce). We became good friends thru playing online, phone calls, emails, etc. We met in person after 2 years, in March 2001 when he flew from Hawaii(he is Japanese American) to Ohio and we spent 2 weeks together. In August 2001 he returned to Ohio, bag and baggage, and on November 30th 2002 we were married. We celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary this year. We now live in West Virginia, where my husband is at the University of Charleston School of Pharmacy. Iv been playing the Sims since way back in 2000. Before that I was in love with Sim City. But, I'm ashamed to say that I wanted to put the games "AI" to the "test", so I created a Sim and put it in a closed room with nothing in it. After a few "sim" days of wetting itself and crying, the poor sim died. I felt so bad, I swore I would never do that again. So I recreated my sim, and gave them everything a Sim could ever want to be happy! To this date I own every expansion for The Sims 1 thru the Sims 3 and probably everything in the Sims 3 Store, and now the Sims 4! In the Sims 1 and 2 I mostly just played the game. I designed houses, but never felt that my work was good enough to share with anyone else. Then when the Sims 3 came out I decided to try making Sims and was told I was pretty good at it. Now I have quite a few Sims 3 Sims published on The Sims Resource. Now with the Sims 4 Iv decided to finally give it a try at making custom content for the game. Its something Iv dearly wanted to do for a long time. And since Lots are so easy to upload in the Sims 4 I submitted my "Plumbob Park" lot to TSR and they actually published it. Now I want to make even more things. I did try to learn to do meshing for the Sims 3 and found Milkshape and programs like it totally mind boggling and the tutorials hard to follow. Now with the Sims 4 Studio I feel I can see a glimmer of hope. Iv started experimenting with making small things like childrens tee shirts with cute pictures on the front. Its a starting place for me. Believe me Im not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed, But the Sims has been a great creative outlet for me. I would love to eventually learn to make custom window treatments for the game, like curtains, drapes, etc. I also want to learn to make wall coverings, floor coverings, rugs, pictures and painting and bed coverings. And my ultimate wish is to someday learn to create hair styles. Im sorry EA, I hate your hair styles! So that's my goals for now. Thank you!

Welcome to the Studio forums Shylaria...it's great to meet you The goal behind Sims 4 Studio is to have a tool that is streamlined to the point where the only challenge an artist faces is learning how to use their 3D and 2D editors. The tool itself will be optimized as much as possible so it doesn't get in the way by adding weird steps, including things where people need to learn hex, xml, or other code to use it, or hiding features behind a non-intuitive UI. To get there the team will need feedback on things that could make it better and, of course, bug reports if something just isn't working. Sims 4 is a challenge to coder and creator alike but I'm optimistic that we can reach this goal. I'm glad even in its early stages it's been useful for you

Hi all, I am Mariah. I am 21, living in the US, going to college. I love the sims, and have been playing ever since the console version came out on gamecube in 2003. I still play that version, for its simplicity and easy laughs. Also, the nostalgia. From there, I played the Sims 2 on PC, but the game crashed and that was the last of my PC gaming for a while. I went back to the console and played Sims 2 there, before growing tired and taking a break from sims altogether. Four years ago I picked up sims again and played Sims 3 on the xbox 360. I got every achievement on there on one account, then did it AGAIN on my live account. I haven't played console sims since, especially since it's so bland and buggy (Sims 3 Pets for console anyone?). I bought Sims 3 for PC for 20 dollars two years ago, but didn't start playing until late last year. I've never been a huge fan of Sims 3, very slow and drawn out. The loading times killed me. I would sometimes end up waiting an hour to play my game! That is why I'm satisfied with Sims 4 so far.
I haven't made custom content before Sims 4, but I was big on mods in Sims 3 (game mods, not CC). Seeing how simple it is to make CC for S4 and test it out (loading times are so short!), I've been dabbling with making my own. If I could, I would like to make themed clothes based off my favorite game characters. I love games a lot! Other than Sims I like SNES games, The Fallout and Elder Scrolls Series, and Castlevania games. Pokemon is my staple when I have a lot of down time.
By the way, thanks for making Sims 4 Studio, it's brilliant!

Hey there. My name is Misty, which most people call me, but I'm also known as simsl3gacies or Margaret Pendragon. I'm 36, married, and am currently in school for an Associate's in social work. I'm a Sims 3 storyteller, and dabble in creation. Right now I have a Meh relationship with Sims 4, and have mostly just been converting my Sims 3 moons for it.
Mostly I'll be lurking, but when I try making something, expect me to turn up with incredibly stupid questions. Don't let my Sims 3 content fool you: I'm an absolute noob and idiot when it comes to anything technical, including graphics editing.
What I'm especially looking forward to is being able to make poses for Sims 4.
