I don't think that blender 2.70 is still supported by the developers, the recent W10 updates may have something to do with your problem. You could try Blender 2.78c, I use that one and it's fine. There are 2 others that are compatible with S4S, but I'm unsure of which ones, maybe someone else could be of help regarding the others.
