I have a base game item that I'm adding additional swatches to (Object > Standalone Recolor) however the size of the file has really blown up. KB to MB.
Is there a way I can bring the file size down? Somehow reference the original model?
Another reason I ask is that in the future, I also plan to resize some objects and still use the original swatches. Surely I could just have a new model referencing the original swatches?
Hopefully this makes sense! If not, I'll try to clear things up. Thanks in advance for any input you could provide.

There aren't a lot of options. Not sure if there's anything similar to the TS2 Compressorizer for TS4.
A couple ideas would be - Smaller texture size (for objects only - reduce by half, so if it's 1024x0124 change to 512x512). - Remove old swatches (you won't need those if you're making new recolors)
You can "slave" objects by selecting "selective clone" and unticking "textures", and then replacing the mesh as you'd normally do. It keeps the swatches from the object you cloned from, and uses that original item as a reference for the textures (if you remove the object, the swatches on the "slaved" objects won't work). Keep in mind that the first item you use as the clone base needs to have all the textures you want (I have no idea how to slave additional swatches added on to the main item - could be possible but I have no idea how, other than recloning the mesh).

Thanks for the feedback! In regards to using Selective Clone, would "Textures" be the only option unticked? And keep all the others checked?
Update:
That seems to be the case actually. Selective Clone with Textures unclicked makes for a much, MUCH smaller file size. Thank you!
