Hi all,
I'm very much a novice to custom content creation but I've decided to have a proper stab at it and so far things are going pretty well! My current project is editing the tall fireplaces that came with Cats & Dogs so that wall-mounted TVs can slot to the overmantle like wall decals slot to the empty signs from Dine Out. After some fiddling, I've managed to add a sign slot to the fireplaces and change the behaviour of one of the TVs so that it can slot there (with the added bonus of now being able to slot to the empty signs as well). Now, I'd really like to have it so that all wall-mounted objects (including TVs, mirrors, wall art and wall sculptures etc.) can slot to the empty sign slots which I think is as simple as changing the Slot Type Set to 8FB46C1254A1A04C.
Downside is that there are a lot of wall-mounted objects and I can't think of much that would be more tedious than making an override for every single one of them, one by one, changing the Slot Type Set each time. I know S4S has in-built batch functions to help update CC when there's a patch, for example, so I was wondering if there's any kind of functionality that would let a creator set their own rules for a batch process in S4S (maybe like, check if a package is an object that must be placed against a wall (and other criteria to weed out things like fireplaces and windows) and then automatically update the Slot Type Set.
I have a sneaking suspicion this isn't currently possible, or that it would be just as tedious to implement as going through each object individually, so if batch editing via S4S isn't feasible I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas on how to do it?
It won't be the end of the world if doing it for other wall-mounted objects is a no-go as I was originally only intending to have this work for TVs, but letting all paintings and mirrors slot to fireplaces/empty signs would be a really nice bonus.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
(Also this is only tangentially related but the _ctnm_signDeco_ and _ctnm_signDecoLarge_ slots don't seem to want to play as nicely as the normal slots in S4S for me in the sense that they don't seem to automatically update in the Slot resource when added or copied - is this something other people have run into or is this just an issue on my end? Again, not the end of the world as I can just go into the Slot resource myself and enter in the details but if I'm just doing something wrong it'd be great to know.)
