This was the error message I first got:

I uninstalled and reinstalled S4S to make sure it was updated and then I tried importing the mesh again.

Now it says that the "one or more of my meshes requires a UV map but does not have one" but I have UV maps selected.....so I don't understand why the error message changed to that when all I did was uninstall and reinstall S4S. Please help!

1). Hairstyle blend files have 3 meshgroups: base shape and 2 hat chops that are meant to interact with hats. Each of them has a cut number ( 0000,0001,0002) which is how The Sims 4 studio knows what 3d models to import and in what order.
Your file has 3 original meshgroups ( that should be deleted) and one of yours that has no cut number or type and should be duplicated twice with different cut numbers assigned;
2). You must apply Solidify modifier before importing the blend in s4s. Uncheck Fill rim because you do not need side geometry;
3). Any CAS mesh has 2 uv maps: uv_0, the first one, is used for projecting textures, uv_1, the second one, is for morphing. They must be in that order and named accordingly;
4). Your uvs are in the space meant for the face. Select everything with A in the UV editor, set this template as the background and adjust them;
5). There is no proper uv_1 map, the mesh will not morph the right way. Use these settings when transferring them;

6). The mesh should be vertex painted with 007F00, otherwise it will not morph at all;
7). You will have a hard time layering the mesh to get rid of transparency issues. The logic behind layering is explained in this tutorial but the process is done in a different software where this issue is visible in the viewport. You can try doing it in Blender following this guide, use another free software for this purpose alone called Milkshape or watch a tutorial on Materials to know how to enable this transparency in Blender ( I tried this and it did not really work for me but maybe it will work for you)

I click both but neither of them had Data Transfer at the top unless that is just the name?

If you do not have it, you need to use 2.76-2.78 version of Blender. It is not present in 2.7
