I downloaded a CC skirt (comes with fishnet attached to it.) I found that it is not compatible with shoes CC or EAs at all. I tried reaching out to the creator of this and they never got back to me or are most likely inactive. The issue being, it seems like the fishnet goes over; overlapped or is embedded with the shoes. Pictures Below for example: I was wondering if someone can help me correct this problem so that I can use this skirt for personal use in my game. I'd hate to delete it just cause it's faulty. I'm not sure what the name of this issue is, as I tried to search the internet for it but I came up short. I'm asking if anyone is willing to help me with the necessary steps to fix it. Please, and thank you.

My best guess is you need to edit the alpha map. Which is complicated if your not familiar with Photoshop (or programs similar). This could be an easy edit on the diffuse map in Sims4 Studio, but if not, TSRW (The Sims Resource Workshop) might provide a easier solution. I am not sure what your comfortable working with in order to proceed..

Remove the fishnet from the skirt, clone some stockings and put the fishnet on there instead. Then it should (in theory) properly behave as stockings and go underneath shoes. It will look the same ingame, but will be a 2-step procedure to put on (but as a bonus you can use the fishnet with other skirts too).
If that doesn't work, it could be there's fishnet texture over the shoe area. If so, you may have to remove the texture from that area.

Hi. Skirts/bottoms have higher Sort layer number than shoes, naturally its textures will be displayed on top of shoes. So, yeah, better to remove these stockings from the skirt and create a new package for stockings

Hey I saw all of your replies. Thanks for responding!
I don't know much in terms of cc creating/fixing, etc. How would I go about separating the two? Is S4S enough or would I have to use Blender or something? I do understand that I'll have to create a new package for each item to edit them. What is the process called so I can find a tutorial to do this? Still new to terminology.
Man, I'm bummed out. I thought it'd be an easy fix but I will give the latter a shot. I rather just keep the skirt and 86 the fishnet.

You'd need S4S and some sort of program to edit textures, like Photoshop, Gimp, or similar. You need one that can work with transparent textures and can save as PNG files (DDS work too, but isn't necessary). I don't think you need to do any mesh editing for this.
The editing would (in theory - depends on where the texture is) be very simple. You'd basically make a standalone recolor of stockings. Then remove the skirt from the skirt texture (mark and delete), maybe do a few more edits, and then import over the stocking texture.
For the skirt you'd have to remove the fishnet texture (mark and delete), then reimport. I'd think you can use the same file for this (or work off a copy, but remember to only use the copy in your game!).

Thank you ! It worked. I was able to separate the two by editing the textures as you said. It was surprisingly easy. Super excited that I'll be able to keep this cute skirt in my game. Thanks everyone.
