Hello! It's been a long time since I posted here last! I have an issue with a frankenmesh I was working on literally a year ago. After I had finished it and all the other pieces that go with it I found an issue in the pelvic region of the mesh. There's a vertice on the front and back of the mesh that doesn't move when you add more weight to the sim. The mesh is perfectly fine on sims with smaller frames but not on bigger frames. I'd like to get this mesh fixed and finally get this released, so any help would be amazing. Link to blender and package files: Click! It is definitely most noticeable when the player is using Reshade: Any help to fix this would be greatly appreciated!

I cannot find an option to upload my files. Am I missing something?

You need to upload them through a different website and give us a link. If you have a google account, you can put it on the google drive. Look it up, it's easy

Yeah, it's vertex paint Vertex paint dictates what variation (skin-tight and robe-like) of deformation maps the painted area will deform according to in CAS during body customization and animation. 00FF00 is for skint-tight areas, 3FFF00 is for any skirt-like area ( skirts, bottom parts of dresses, coats, aprons, etc). Start by choosing 00FF00 and Paint - Set vertex color 1). Disable Limit selection to visible; 2). Holding Ctrl, lasso-select the bottom part of the mesh starting somewhere in the middle of the pelvic bone; 3). Enable sync; 4). Press B and deselect legs; 5). Switch to Vertex paint and enable Face selection masking for painting; 6). Type in 3FFF00; 7). Paint - Set vertex colors; 8). Press A twice to deselect and select everything again, Paint - Smooth vertex colors Also, you are importing something affected by skirt bones into a package started from something that is not. It can cause distortions for people using your cc. Clone DressPanels instead of lingerie

Ooooh okay. So it's a weight issue with the mesh. I will look into this either tonight or tomorrow! Weight painting is still very new to me, and I haven't been in Blender since August. This dress is actually my second true frankenmesh. I've done two others, but they were very simple and not complex.
And yes, I imported this over the full body mesh that's a corset with underwear in the game. So that explains the issue!

It is not a weight issue. The bottom part of skirts, coats, dresses, aprons, etc, have a spacial variation of deformation maps meant for them. The skirt is morphing according to a different variation.
The weight issue you are not witnessing, but it may appear for people using your cc. It would look somewhat like in the gif above, very dramatic distortion

I'm so sorry to necro this post three years later, but after not playing the game shortly after making this post to now, I'd like to finally fix this mesh.
Being gone so long I hardly remember anything in Blender. I've been googling my issue based on the vague memory of having some vertices in this dress not moving when I raise the sim's weight. I found a Youtube video where after the creator edited a mesh by adding a long strap wrapping around their dress they then used CAS Tools to auto-assign calculated slotrays (no clue what that is), UV1, and bone weights. I thought maybe that could fix my issue, and while it did it adjusted other parts of the mesh that it didn't need to; and the groin area, while fixed to expand with the weight, now became bumpy.
Not happy with that I continued my search, found this post and saw that I had imported this mesh onto a lingerie mesh - where I now recognize the problem. Rather than trying to fix this mesh in Blender (because Blender is really confusing right now and following the tutorials I've found and the steps here hasn't worked) could I import it into a new package file of a dress rather than lingerie?

Yes, you can clone a maxis item called DressPanels and import it there. However, your problem was caused by vertex paint, so that is something that should be re-done, not uvs or weights

I'm running into an issue where when I press B to deselect the legs nothing happens. :(

You’re meant to press B to activate the box selection tool, then hold Shift and click and drag to deselect the uvs of the legs
