Hi, I'm a beginner when it comes to modding -- haven't played with any of the files beyond decompiling the python files and extracting the xml files. There's a few tutorials on extracting xml files but a lot of them are very old tutorials and very few are for mac users so I am very, very, very lost. However, after playing around with The Sims 4 Studio, I found that there's an option where I can extract xml files using The Sims 4 Studio on Mac under tools > extract tuning, but is that really how to do it?
I've seen another tutorial on xml extraction and comparing them to my files, I feel like I'm missing some of the files. For example, their xml files had subfolders for each game packs, expansions packs, etc, while mine doesn't. Can anyone clear this up for me?
The tutorial that I'm referring to:

Thanks to S4S majority of modding for Windows and Macs is the same, the way you setup and extract is what you see in here (Scarlet's tutorials are perfect for beginners): simsvip.com/2016/06/17/create-mod-setting/Your files extracted just fine. It seems to be that this person either A) organized them for the viewers, or B) used Wine/etc., or had a friend, to extract the files for them with XML Extractor (which organizes files by pack). S4S does not organize by pack, only type.
