So I'm working on a simple override mod, of the "Caress Scented Candles" to make them functional. Everything is working just fine, the only thing missing from making it complete is that the mesh itself won't light up.
I've worked with lamps and candles before, I've properly vertex painted the mesh and when I'm trying to use it on a cloned lamp it lights up just fine.
However I really want it to be an override so I'm guessing I need to change some properties (within the modelLOD entries perhaps?) I tried comparing these properties with a lamp that does in fact light up and the only difference I found was the "UseSelfVertIllumination" and changed it to 1 with no results.
Any ideas on what makes a mesh light up and take advantage of its vertex paint?

So I tried messing with almost ALL of the ModelLOD properties but no success unfortunately. Could it be some sort of tag I need to enable somewhere? It really baffles me as to why it won't light up.

Have you found a solution? I'm having the same problem for a non-lamp cloned object that needs to be self-illuminated using vertex-paint. I already turned the UseSelfVertIllumination to 1 with no success. It seems to be something inside the ModelLOD. EDIT: I think that the ModelVertexDeclaration is the problem. Lights has this color usage vertex declaration that other objects don't have. I tried to add a new one to my object, but it breaks the mesh.
