hi!!! this is my first post here so I hope it's in the right place.
I have a lot of cc in my game and I downloaded s4s to make some recolors. I recently changed one of my sims' gender to male, and I discovered that most of my cc doesn't show up anymore due to being gender-restricted ;_; my sim has the female frame, but I still can't use the cc. I used the "Update CAS CC for all genders" batch fix, (im using S4S 1.3.1.5 apple blossom) but it doesn't seem to have changed much? or at least it didn't change the items I needed. I know I could just go through every piece of cc and fix it one by one but that would take a very very long time, so I was wondering if there was a quick way to remove the gender restriction on all my cc, even outside of s4s. thank you to anyone who can help!

There is no way to mass-allow this. Most of CC has to be created in a specific way to fit male frames. So even if there is no gender restriction in the file it still won't fit perfectly, will clip and won't morph correctly in some areas.

As I said above there is no such thing in Sims 4 Studio anyway.

Huh. If there isn't any feature in S4S that bulk-removes gender restrictions, then what does 'Update CAS CC for all genders' actually do?

Ahh, that makes sense. I do still have a few things that aren't tagged with either, and while I plan to do a lot of manual organizing, that'd be a useful thing to have done in advance.

As I said above there is no such thing in Sims 4 Studio anyway. Awesome! I'm necro-ing an almost 4 year old post and created an account when I didn't need to yet because I somehow missed the big sticky (my bad, this isn't a sticky) post* that answers both my questions!
Before I go though, y'all should know that EAxis has royally screwed up a lot of these Restrict For Opposite Gender and Frame tags. They've got tons of female/feminine frame items gender and frame restricted and vice versa which *inhales sharply* royally messes with my Male/Feminine trans-frame sim. I dealt with some of this nonsense for the Goth Galore Kit www.reddit.com/r/Sims4/comments/19cacf5/ and then I realized just how prevalent this problem actually is www.reddit.com/r/Sims4/comments/18bkmiq/comment/konwgtf/.
I'm beating a dead tree here, but if it was possible to make batch edits that toggle both Restrict Flags and additional batch edits that toggle Masculine and Feminine Fashion Choice, I would be so filled with joy and eternally grateful. It might even possibly make me enjoy TS4 a little more! GASP!
Until then, I'll continue doing this the hard way. I've just wrapped up the Base Game! #NextUp: EP01!
Cheers and happy simming!

Gender doesn't mean much when dealing with CAS assets. It means the item won't be accessible by a sim that is either male or female, no matter of the chosen body type aka the "frame" xender.vip/ Restrict opposite frame means the item is locked for a body shape no matter if male or female is selected. It's almost always done to avoid glitches when a mesh was made for, say, women and would definitely break on men. Think, UV errors, holes or misaligned parts. CC creators with custom meshes rarely make their meshes with compatibility in mind so the stuff gets locked for safety reasons. You can unlock it sure, just watch out for bugs.
