Hi :D So I'm trying to make a wall cutout window, to act as a stair cutout for flush walls. I cloned the "Old Meets View" open window-arch so I didn't have to deal with glass. Made the mesh in blender, edited the cutout, etc etc... testing in game and it *works*, technically, no errors thrown or anything (unless MOO is off, because the mesh dips under Z). But, it uses the InstancedWindow shader, which makes the mesh change it's illumination depending on what side of the wall the camera is rotated on.
I tried changing the shader in all model lods to counter, phongalpha, and phong... and each time the mesh/texture vanished when testing in game (only the wallmask shadow was visible). I tried cloning/make3d chaggith's faux half-wall window (from mts), which doesn't suffer this lighting problem because it uses the counter shader, but every attempt was missing a cutout dds.

The only thing I can think of is adding a cutout mask using the game file cruiser, follow this thread, which is for sink cutouts, but perhaps you could add a wall cutout and get it to work this way? *Edit sorry I should have clarified I meant cloning something arbitrary like a painting and adding the cutout image and info.
