Anyone know if they are close to a fix yet? My cc doors are driving me insane cuz i cant use them This is getting a bit tiresome.. If you would read old messages back, you would have read that this batch fix will take awhile. So close to fix? probably not, as andrew has something called a personal life? In which he dedicates alot of free personal time to supply us with the batch fixes, all while still having a day job to go to.
If i am sounding rude, i do apologize, but these questions are annoying as it seems nobody takes the time to read. As everybody complains, nothing will be reached with it, only annoyance.
So for the new people.... Read the bold marked statement.
This batch fix, to fix the currently not working doors, windows and arches will take awhile. There has been a massive amount of send-in's for windows arches and doors, to help andrew with the batch fix, while that's an upside, every upside also has it downside. The downside in this case? As there are more then a couple of hundred and maybe even more to be tested and modified for it work, this will take time and patience. His time and OUR Patience. Like i stated a few weeks back, the batch fix can be released tomorrow, or somewhere in the next three months, and we should be okay for it.
And if you're not okay with that, then i got a suggestion.
Gather a ton of money, enough for andrew to survive on for a year, so he can take the time off from work, and fully focus on the batch fix. No..? You don't want to do so? Well.... then don't nag  Rather than get frustrated that you can not use CC doors and windows, just do what i did.... Save all CC doors and windows to a folder on your desktop, get used to playing without them, then think how exciting it will be in a few months time when a batch fix is available and you can use them again. No big deal really. We are all accustomed to Maxis breaking something in patches and updates and this is no different. |

The common thread through all windows and doors, even EA's is the reflection issue. I can't help but wonder if there is some connection. Also, Has anyone given any thought to the idea that EA may find their screw up and fix it? The end result being that everything that has been fixed so far will be all broken again? It wouldn't be the first time that EA screwed the pooch.

mickcasanova There is a thread for the window reflection issue: answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-Doors-windows-and-arches-clipping-in-mirror-reflections/td-p/9470065/page/4So far, I cannot find any ETA on a fix for this OR for their own doors/windows with frames only or the terrible cracks. Sigh.  ~~~When EA gave us the ability to stack windows, they changed how the transparent portion worked. It used to be an image file and now it is actual coordinates so that the windows can stack and windows/doors/arches can slide on walls. We just have to wait; although, you could go to the post and upload some images if you'd like.
