I've made my first custom content object, a desk, modelled off my own real life desk. There are some funny lighting/texture issues at the moment. Possibly due to the fact I've just deleted the specular and diffuse map instead of learning to do anything with them for the time being. However, my question involves the use of decorative slots. There is space under the desk on top of the drawers which I placed the tablet. I want it to be able to place similar sized items which would fit there. However, the game allows me to place larger decorative items, that are clearly too big for the space. (As seen it the second pic). Is it possible to make it so that it only allows objects of a certain height to be placed in that particular slot?

Objects come as Small, Medium and Large for slot placements, but there's no height restriction as far as I know. The closest you get is Small objects, so you're probably best off only putting small slots there, and using objects classified as Small. Doesn't do much for the height, though. There are of course larger but flatter items you'd filter out.

Yeah, the fact that there are only three sizes means it's almost impossible to avoid either a) not letting players put something in a slot that is a perfectly reasonble thing to put there, or b) letting players put something in a slot that makes zero sense. The difference is that if players CAN place objects that don't work, they can see that the object doesn't work there and just make the decision themselves. If they can't place objects that really ought to work, then they're out of luck unless they know how to change the object's size, have OMSP objects they can use with it, etc. Thus the proliferation of mods that re-slot EA objects.

There's also the resizing buttons to consider - while the items directly out of the catalog don't immediately look like they fit, they could if you resize them (I just wish some items had a few more sizes than huge-medium-tiny...)
