I wasn't sure what to call this, I don't know if the terms I used are the right ones for what I mean. I'm pretty new to the world of modding, so I'm going to try to explain my question the best I can, I hope it makes sense. I did try to search for an answer first but couldn't seem to find any... sorry in advance if this is a dumb question.
So, I downloaded a rug set which was merged into one file. There are a lot of swatches and I really like half of them, but the other half are patterns I'd never use, and so I wanted to remove those swatches. I opened it up in My CC to remove them as I normally do, but when I got there I found that some of them share the same swatch. Under 'Meshes' there is a dropdown for 3 different items, and when each is selected it shows a different rug for that same swatch. Some of the designs I want share the same swatch with ones that I don't, and I couldn't delete one without deleting the other two that shared the same spot.
I couldn't figure out if there's a solution or not, or if I'm just being dumb about it. I could just be misunderstanding completely, so that's why I've come here for some help.
Is it possible to delete one but not the other that's on the same swatch, so I can pick and choose which ones show up in game?
I'm sure I over complicated it in the explanation, so here's a couple screenshots of what I mean. Thanks!

Try unmerging the package and trying again?

I went into studio and selected "un-merge package" under "content management", but it said that either it's not a merged package, or was not merged with a version of Studio that supports un-merging. Does that mean it's not possible, or am I in the wrong place?

Oh darn, that means either the creator imported all the files into the same package or are using TSRW or another program to make the rugs. You'd have to open the package in the main S4S program (not My CC, My Projects instead) and then try to delete the swatches you don't want in the Warehouse (would be the object catalog and object definition of the matching swatch color/instance).

Oh, those are fun rugs, I'm keeping them. That file is almost 6 years old (January 2015 according to both the Tumblr post and GDrive) so I believe it's just so old that S4S didn't do manifests yet?
Exporting the textures you like, making them into a recolor, and embedding the mesh is usually an option. Unsure if the ancient merge will affect that.

Does this rug actually work in game for you guys? Mine says there's a script error when changing to certain swatches. Maybe it's a clone of a rug from one of the game or expansion packs? How curious. Even so, I don't see it being TOO much work to just reclone a base game rug and reimport the mesh and diffuse textures you like.

Wikipedia says zero packs had been released when the file was posted, so unless the creator got early access to Outdoor Retreat (which came out just over a week later) and then didn't say or didn't know they'd used something from it in their download, it must be base game. It's just really old and was made with really old tools.
I put the file in my test game and the rug disappeared when I tried to place it, but I restarted (and deleted localthumbcache for giggles) and it decided it was placeable after all. I get 'script call failed' when trying to change to certain swatches with the Design Tool but can select them before placement and they will place. All in all, though, rebuilding it in some way seems a good idea. I may check the textures for compatibility with EA rug meshes sometime.

OK, maybe I am just missing something, but why not just export the textures, create a clone of the proper rug size and add the exported textures you want?

You're not missing anything! I'm just very new to all this I'm not super sure what you guys are saying, with embedding the mesh and diffusing textures... but I'll give it a shot! So, I'm not quite sure how to clone. I was directed to a tutorial on how to create standalone recolors after searching for how to clone, so is that the one I want or do I want this one? sims4studio.com/thread/1483/selective-cloning-reference-repository-itemSorry if it's a dumb question, but I'm not totally sure what the difference here is for what I'm trying to do

I don't mess with .package files but form my basic understanding you may want to: Click on warehouse, enter DST. "Apply filter", Ctrl+A (select all), Batch Export into an empty folder and you have all DST images. In Studio you can also export the mesh and shadow mesh while I would skip this in this case. Look for a rug with the same size and simply recolor it with the exported textures. You could also import the exported meshes if needed, maybe if the UV map is rotated 90°.

We all started at one point. If you take a screenshot of the swatches you would like to have I can make it for you. Oh, really? If it's not too much trouble, that'd be nice. Thank you,
I actually already do have a screenshot of all the ones I wanted that I took in game, if that works. I was trying to figure out which ones I wanted since swatches in studio were so mixed up, so I have screenshots of the ones I wanted to keep and of the ones I wanted to remove. This is the one of the swatches I wanted to keep:

Oh, hey, you've also saved me a bunch of trouble since now I already know what mesh I can use to make my own fix. Thanks!

The rugs work great, and I really appreciate the steps on how I can do it myself in the future! @wj thanks a bunch! Thanks to everyone else for your help, too
