I'm still new to modding so sorry if this has been answered. I have looked at the FAQs and general tutorials but couldn't find an answer.
I want to use an existing custom hair and make it default replacement, how do I do that? There is an option to create override .package in Studio. Does that mean I will have to export meshes, textures and info of existing CC and import them all back into the new package? Is there no way to just edit the hash / instance / whatever info needed of the existing CC to make it overriding a default hair?
Thank you all so much. I'm loving this game so far but I don't really like a lot of the default hairs. Btw, I never intend to upload anything, just wanna make things for personal use, and of course I will conform to original creators' TOUs as well.

There is no simple way to do what you are asking about except by using an "override" function in Studio. There are tons of resources and numbers that have to be replaced which is impossible to do by hand.

I wonder if the process is the same or somewhat the same with replace default hair like in this guide: leeleesims1.tumblr.com/post/165407740164/how-to-create-a-default-replacement-hair . Basically what she did was manually replace mesh and texture. Can I ask one more question? What happen if I delete some of the default swatches? Will the item still function well as an override?
