How do I convert an obj file into a Sims 4 Package file? I'm trying to follow a tutorial but the tutorial doesn't state how to convert an obj file into a Sims 4 Package file.

Hi. You cannot just convert something, you need to adapt it to function properly in-game. The process depends on what you are making. Whichever the case, you need to use Blender and read or watch a tutorial for the specific type of items (Clothing, accessories and shoes, hair, build and buy mode items).

I'm trying to create a custom skin for my sim. I already used TS4 Sim Ripper to extract the sim into an obj file but the creator of the tutorial I'm following doesn't show how to turn the obj file into a Sims 4 Package file.

Skin is just a texture. It does not come with the body, you will not be able to import a 3d mesh into the package. The body you see in s4s is for preview and cannot be replaced. If you are using Photoshop, you need to import the custom body there and draw on it. You can also do this is Blender. Then, after you are done with the texture, you will just import that image in s4s.

The tutorial I was watching somehow converted it to Sims 4 Package file before using s4s to export the skin and saving it as a PNG before using photoshop to edit it.

He opened a skin package (in this case it is a face mask or a skin detail or something texture based, you cannot make standalone skins in s4s ). The 3d model you are seeing in the preview in s4s is the default model. If you are not seeing the model at all, you need to navigate your game path correctly and close s4s to update. Make sure to not clone any makeup from Mac collection

The author is not opening a package file with the body in s4s, they are opening a package file with the skin texture. Clone a skin detail and that will be your package, then, after you create a texture in photoshop, you will import the texture in this package. Your obj you should be importing in photoshop, not s4s.
