I would love an updated mod that let's you walk by using WASD instead of point and click. It just feels much more immersive to me. Is this possible?

Was there such a mod already that has become outdated?

Well, based on the into I see there and on the MTS page for the same mod, if I wanted to use that mod right now, I would first test it in a brand new save, with no other mods or CC installed, to see if it still works. It has not been updated in a while, but it is stated by the creator to be compatible with Eco Lifestyle (EP9, Snowy Escape is EP10), the recent reports of it not working are not from people whose level of knowledge I can evaluate from their posts, and there are relatively recent comments on MTS that suggest it was still working for the comment makers when the comments were made, so I would want to check for myself whether I could get it working or not.
If it didn't work, and I felt confident that I had read all the info about how to install and use the mod carefully, and understood it all well, and that I had tested it as thoroughly as needed to be sure of my conclusion, then I would use the wealth of info at the link that was just provided to contact the creator, and ask him a) to confirm whether the mod was out of date, or whether it was his understanding that it was still working ok with 1.68 (or whatever game version you run, if it is newer than 1.63 (mentioned explicitly in the mod description) but older than 1.68 (November patch)), and if it is out of date, then also b) whether he will update it.
If the mod is confirmed to be working for other people with your game version, then you troubleshoot. If the mod is confirmed to be out of date but an update is planned, then you wait. If the mod is confirmed to be out of date with no update planned, then you check the creator's TOU.
If the creator's TOU says people can edit his mods and share the result, or can ask permission to share the result, then your request here can be for someone to update the mod. If it says people are not allowed to share edited version of his mods, you can only ask for someone to make a brand new, similar mod from scratch (or by basing it on things people *can* share edits of).
But figuring out if the mod even needs updating is the first step.
