Hi all!
I'm new to making CC, and was hoping you could help. I have a few families/characters that I play repeatedly over multiple saves. I want to make ancestral portraits that I can use in every game, rather than having to take new photos every time. Recently I got some nice pose mods and spent a few hours taking really pretty portraits of everyone.
The catch is - I love how they look in the default black frame, large size, on the wall. I want a custom object that looks exactly like a large framed photograph that was taken in game and displayed - including the white border inside the frame, no spectral shine, etc.
I know how to replace a standard painting with my own pictures, but I want the particular look that only comes with...what appears to be a debug frame item. When I import the debug large wall frame to S4S, the exported file (that I would normally replace with my own picture) is a transparent square with a tiny blueish rectangle inside.
Does anyone know a workaround, or an editable download?
Thanks so much! 😊

Thanks so much! 😊 Hi, The photo frames are pretty complex objects because they include multiple meshes for the different states - framed, unframed, etc. I just made a couple of recolorable photo objects but it was not something I'd recommend as a beginner project. I'm not sure if you have any meshing experience but I'll try to explain what I did. First I cloned the large photo frame and exported the mesh. When I opened it in Blender I found that it had a bunch of different parts which weren't needed for this object. I deleted everything except the shadow plane (mesh 0), the frame (mesh 4), and the photo plane (mesh 6). The photo plane had no texture mapped to it, so I had to make a new larger frame texture to make room for the photo UV map. I resized and moved the frame UV to fit the larger texture. Once I had the photo plane mapped I joined that with the frame into one object. Next I cloned the base game Lemon Branch painting and exported the mesh. I appended the photo frame mesh and shadow plane and changed the cut numbers to match the painting's and deleted the originals. This tutorial explains the process better. Then in S4S I imported the meshes and textures. I also made new specular and normal maps to match the new textures. Here is a link to the recolorable frames I made plus recolor templates. Feel free to use these if you want! EDIT: I made a new version with a separate texture for the frame and photo and made the photo texture slightly larger.

Hi Lavsm, Trust me to pick a hard thing as a starter project! Thank you so much, I really appreciate the effort you put in to help me. And sorry for the late reply - got caught up with festivities! I'd managed to make a passable dupe but it doesn't really hold up well when zooming in - will definitely give yours a shot! Happy new year and thanks again!
