So I followed in detail, the guide posted here as well as on other sites on how to make all or parts of an object shiny in game. Using Intel Texture Works, I am able to complete the actions of adding alpha and doing the RGB adjustments in Photoshop. I do get the results in game, however the I'm bothered by the look of the .dds image. See Images showing comparison

I'm not sure if replying to my own thread is allowed but I thought i'd just share that i've resolved the issue with the following steps: 1. Opened my bake image in Photoshop 2. Edited the RGB channels 3. Save as PSD without adding the alpha. 4. Exit then relaunch Photoshop 5. Open PSD and add the alpha channel then save as .dds with Intel Texture Works.
Maybe I'm slow and will be the only one to ever experience this issue but just in case!!

Was it missing the alpha channel? Photoshop is known to occassionally drop the alpha when saving DDS. I've experienced it before. I find it is always best to try importing the image to your package file before closing photoshop, just in case you need to replace the alpha.

menaceman44 yeah, it was exactly that and for the life of me I couldn't figure it out. :( I'm happy it's now resolved. I've been at it for sooooooooo long. Now I can finally finish and publish my kitchen.
