Sims will sleep in a double bed up against the wall but it can be finicky and I believe the one who sleeps against the wall needs to get in first. That said, some people report this no longer working for them while for others it seems to be fine (I don't know if this depends on how new the save is.) I'm not sure if it's a matter of poor planning or a bug that makes it unroutable. You might have to test it in your game to find out if it works for you. That said, they definitely can't woo-hoo because both sides of the bed must be free for that option. (Probably because the Sims will sometimes immediately jump back out of bed if they aren't tired enough.) If you want to keep the bed against the wall then you might want to get a hot tub or, if you have other packs available, you may want to include another option for woohoo (like a closet, a tent, a bush, or a dumpster lol.) If you have Discover University, they can woohoo in most showers (the open one from Island Living doesn't work since the Sims are still visible while showering.)
Edit: You don't need an entire tile open for them to use both sides of the bed btw. You only need half a tile on each side for both sides to be accessible (you just won't be able to have an end table on either side.) One of the few very nice things about Sims 4 is that most routing options require less space than in previous games.

davidmory38 I forgot to add btw, that this is a base-game feature that has been around for a long time. So having the bed against the wall and only having half of a tile on each side will work without Tiny Living (but there is a chance you might not be able to use the bed against the wall, as I said.)
